Not just him,Obama gave a speech about being ready, for a new pandemic, he even called it a new"flu" virus! ! But he was warning of not being ready for one in case,of not being prepared!! Then you've got trump saying"we never expected a new virus as bad as this" so in other words,Obama's words fell on deaf ears,as nobody prepared, what's the old saying? Better to try to prevent, than try to cure ;) nobody was ready for this,or anywhere near it!! Hence the shortages of the urgent CORRECT ppe equipment and ventilators, just read that 50% of nurses and doctors in the Anuiren bevan ward have tested positive for covid 19!!! Mainly through not having correct ppe,f@cking shocking state of affairs!! :old: :bluebird:

nobody had it, not even China { and they are the worlds biggest manufacturers of this stuff } who had everyone and his brother scouring the world sourcing it back in January.. having read similar articles from around the world to those relating to PPE here think its something that's easier said than done..

No offence dogfound, but surely you mean easier done than said? That would make more sense? But I do get your drift, but my point was, that several world leaders have talked about preparedness for such events,Inc biological attacks,my question would be,why didn't anyone take heed and at least try to be prepared, now that's easier said than done I know  but in the 5 years since Obama gave a big speech on being prepared,it seems not one country listened, and yes, that has led to a huge demand on the stock that is available worldwide, are we saying that in the last 5 years, if efforts were made,we as a country, couldn't have produced the numbers we now require?(ppe) And the same worldwide? Surely they could get prisoners to make some of it? Or those on community service, get them and the lockdown breakers making gowns and masks for the front line staff? Surely we as a country should be better prepared than the shambles we see and here unfolding every day all over the country? My sister in law works at Llandough hospital, and admits she sits herself each day she starts her shift, her husband has also had heart surgery recently, but she has had to isolate herself from him,to try and protect patients, with the absolute minimum protective gear? Shame on the goverment/s we have elected is what I say,if it were a school report it would read" easily distracted, not concentrating enough, very poor preperation for any upcoming exam/s D-,MUST DO BETTER!" poor effort all around. :sad7: :old: :bluebird:

if easier done we would be knee deep in it by now ?
I know if I had a PPE factory id be working 24/7 and employing anyone and everyone to help ..im sure those producing are doing just that.. as for Obama , why didn't he sort it...talk is cheap. anyone can say one day there will be a virus and do zero about it..
but im afraid every country would have failed along with ours...many by a bigger margin including the one that invented it and the hoovered up the worlds supply of PPE all while pretending it wasn't happening..

This isn't about health, it's about economy and dominance. If it was about health surely the world would've been better prepared
