I've really valued the trust that the government have given us so as to enjoy a walk. Sadly due to crass stupidity that must now end.

My daughter who lives in London says she wil takes her walk at 7 am tomorrow to avoid the crowds of people out for a picnic or park pissup.


The barrage today in the bay had people climbing over the fences to use the outdoor gym apparatus.


I have disagreed with annis in that the lockdown should have been more stringent but sadly the larry heads have taken advantage of the boris reluctance to curtail liberty and thereby validate the unswerving stance that Annis has taken

There was a debate on here recent that centred on who were the worst offenders and one or two got quite precious on the subject

From the images I've seen in the last day or two, including those where individuals/groups are confrontational to law enforcement officers of all descriptions, there is clear evidence that the younger generation are the main culprits

Asda yesterday was awash with young families sauntering around the place like it was a Griswald Family Vacation and certainly not adhering to current guidance on numbers and/or spacing

Whilst the vast majority are adhering to the advice provided, there is an underbelly of society that (for some while now) has believed it is exceptional to any rules surrounding social behaviour...and sadly, it's not all their fault, as those who should have set the examples have clearly failed to do so

For so long they have been pretty much "untouchable' in word or deed, they genuinely believe they can do what they like

Fine them in the first instance and then put them before a Court, where their deliberate actions of putting the nation at risk could finally drive the message home when they are publicly decried

Partial Lockdown is not a nice situation for anyone but it is necessary right now...

I was talking to a workmate A couple of days ago and we said where are the army? As we were led to believe the majority were all called back home just before the lockdown ready to Marshall our streets.

That’ll be the last thing the Army want or need, why risk infecting them. While I agree that the army won't want this,but it is what they are there for, to protect the country,and as far as I'm concerned it's time to call on them, the police are stretched beyond,and that was the case before covid 19,there simply ain't enough police to enforce the rules unfortunately .today people were out in more numbers than before,I've watched neighbours letting their kids out,mixing with other kids,whilst they chat to each other on the door,having a drink! It riles me,that these ducks are out on Thursday evenings,clapping for the NHS! ! It's getting embarrassing now,people are just not listening I'm sure they think"I've been in 2 weeks and I'm ok,I haven't been unwell,so let's get back to normal behaviour " I've been against a total lockdown,as I have been walking with the Mrs over the woods,and have hardly seen a soul, and those that we did meet still practised social distancing, by passing each other with at least 20/2t feet between us,this has been our excersise and wind down period,as I am out delivering medicines to isolated patients,and it can be quite upsetting at times,when you can see thatsome older folk,simply want a chat but if we have to forfit that walk, and go into a more stringent lockdown,then so be it! Gutted that a minority of plebs,acting as if nothing is going on,will deny us sensible people who want to stretch the legs and lungs,that priveledge.it was only twice a week thing,and was really relaxing,listening to birds singing away,and the river gently flowing by,nobody in eyeshot, no traffic,bliss really

Police commissioner says fines 'aren't enough of a deterrent'

Police forces in Wales need to be able to give out greater fines to people ignoring the stay-at-home rules, according to the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dyfed-Powys.

Dafydd Llywelyn told Radio Cymru's Post Cyntaf programme that the current fines "aren't enough of a deterrent".

On Friday, First Minister Mark Drakeford said police forces in Wales were satisfied they had the powers to deal with people flouting the measures introduced to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Mr Drakeford added that should the police request greater powers as the pandemic continues, “they will get those powers”.

"If they think that the penalties are not sufficient we will look at the penalties as well," he added.

Currently, people found to be breaching the lockdown rules are fined £60 for a first offence.

That's reduced to £30 if the penalty is paid within 14 days.

Coastguard go on patrol in city centre

Coastguard staff are patrolling Cardiff city centre to help ensure people get the message to stay home.

Councillor Peter Bradbury said: "We're grateful to our partners at HM Coastguard for this offer of mutual aid, which will allow us to expand on the existing patrols being carried out by our park rangers and the police."

Many park are now closing due to the ignorance of some of the UK public .

Police use 'sky talk' drone to disperse crowd

A talking drone was used by police to break up a group of 30 people not abiding by social distancing guidelines.

Surrey Police said the "sky talk" drone, which was used in Walton-on-Thames on Friday morning, allowed the force to communicate without putting officers at additional risk.

The drone told the group: “Attention this a police message. You are gathering in breach of government guidelines to stay at home in response to the coronavirus. You are putting lives at risk. Please disperse immediately and return home.”

The plea was effective and the group left the area, the force said.

A man was charged with assault after two officers were punched and one of them seriously bitten in Rochdale on Thursday.

Meanwhile, in Eastbourne, three women were charged with assault after threatening to spit on and expose to coronavirus police officers who were responding to reports of a house party. One officer also suffered a head injury and required hospital treatment.

And a man from Nottingham who allegedly coughed on a police officer is due in court on Monday after he was arrested following a domestic incident.

He is charged with three offences - actual bodily harm and common assault in relation to the domestic incident, and assault on an emergency worker.

'Shame the idiots'

There has been a call to "shame" the minority of people who are ignoring social distancing rules during the coronavirus crisis.

South Wales police and crime commissioner Alun Michael called them "idiots who don't get the message".

He added: "We need to make it clear to them that what they are doing is shameful, that they are insignificant minority and celebrate the fact this terrible virus requires us to act together in a disciplined way."

Water cannon "might be the answer" to breaking up street parties during the coronavirus lockdown, according to a councillor.

Former Newport council leader Matthew Evans tweeted the suggestion in response to a story about police being abused while breaking up a party in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.

"Can't believe people are still that stupid, water cannons might be the answer," posted Mr Evans, now the Conservative leader of the opposition at Newport council.

"I also agree the street party is a stupid thing to do," posted one Twitter user in response. "Not condoning it. They should all be fined. But water cannon is a bit much."

"Not sure how many more warnings you need to give people and suspect they wouldn't be able to pay any fines.

"Get the fire brigade to hose them down - would help with the social distancing!" tweeted Mr Evans, who has also previously been a Conservative parliamentary candidate.
