Bayern Munich were among a number of Bundesliga clubs to return to training for the first time since the campaign was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

The champions trained in groups of five but without any contact, as did Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg.

Bottom side Paderborn worked in small groups and coach Steffen Baumgart said it was important for players to "get the ball on their feet again".

Germany's top flight has been suspended since 13 March until at least 30 April.

"It was certainly a very unusual feeling holding a training session in small groups today, but it was also nice to see the boys in person again," said Bayern captain Manuel Neuer.

Training began with a warm-up routine, followed by running and shooting drills and technical training which were "elements in which the necessary social distancing can be adhered to."

The German champions said all hygiene measures were "strictly observed" and no members of the public were present.

For the past two weeks Bayern players and staff had taken part in "cyber training".

Bayern were top of the league at the time of the season being stopped, four points clear of Borussia Dortmund.

Personally I think they are jumping the gun! Just because their numbers are low on fatalities, doesn't give the all clear surely? £ :old: :bluebird:

Then maybe Change the headline Annis? As it's not brilliant news really, who on earth makes these decisions ffs! The government are talking staying in lockdown for several weeks yet, does Germany believe they are safe now? When oh when are people going to put lives before football,as fans we are all desperately missing our "fix",but we have to follow the guidelines set out by government, are Germany that far ahead of us,regarding covid 19? I don't believe they are.I am truly amazed by their decision tbh,but look at Mourinho, setting a "perfect " example, these people in high paid posistions think they are immune or something :banghead: but after saying my piece on that subject,I have been delivering prescription medication today around ely, fairwater,Llandaff, and canton today, and am shocked by the number of people out today, and some in groups of 8/10!!! I have been against total lockdown, until now, people for some insane reason, are just not listening, letting your kids mix with others is not clever,in fact it's downright irresponsible, playing footy with your mates, the same! Breaking the social distance rule is both irresponsible, and foolish,my house backs onto the link road to Leckwith, and having got in around 2pm,have opened the windows, and the traffic noise is a lot more consistent today also, surely not everyone has a reason to be travelling? ? Rant over! STAY HOME PEOPLE,OR PERHAPS PAY THE ULTIMATE PRICE!! Now where's my colouring book  :old: :bluebird:

Does not make sense this move.

Europ has stalled on their action of how they are going to handle COVID 19. Strong rumours that the EURO will suffer for this. This sound very pre-mature.
