Her wealth probably exceeds the total of the Premier League players. So what is she contributing right now ?
Her speech was good and well worded, but I'd like to see her set an example financially too.

Queen's message watched by 24 million
About 24 million people watched the Queen's address to the British public, overnight viewing figures show.
That was more than three times the viewership of her most recent Christmas address, which drew about 7.1 million.
She thanked frontline workers, called on the public to "remain united and resolute" and promised, "We will meet again".
The viewing figures make it the second most-watched television broadcast of 2020 so far, although it is not yet known how many watched online.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson's statement announcing strict new measures to tackle coronavirus was watched by more than 27 million people.

She and the Royal Family do plenty for this country mate don't worry, financially and as human beings.
It cost something like £292 million to keep the Royal Family but they bring in over £1.5 billion a year to the economy.
Let's be glad we have them.

Queen thanks health workers' 'selfless commitment'
The Queen has paid tribute to healthcare professionals fighting the coronavirus pandemic in a new statement to mark World Health Day.
The monarch, who gave a rare TV address on Sunday, praised workers' dedication and thanked them for their "selfless commitment".
The message, addressed to healthcare professionals across the Commonwealth and around the world, said: “On the occasion of World Health Day, I want to thank all those in the healthcare profession for your selfless commitment and diligence as you undertake vitally important roles to protect and improve the health and well-being of people across the Commonwealth, and across the world.
“In testing times, we often observe that the best of the human spirit comes to the fore; the dedication to service of countless nurses, midwives and other health workers, in these most challenging of circumstances, is an example to us all.
“My family and I send our enduring appreciation and good wishes.”

I'm not anti the monarchy. I agree that they bring in plenty more than they cost and I have not said anything otherwise.
My question is based on the current circumstances. As I said, nice words but what is the monarchy contributing to the current crisis ?
Plenty of other professions have been called out, is the monarchy beyond reproach ?

There are plenty of millionaire and billionaires in United Kingdom who could dig deep into their pockets during and following this crisis. To single out the Queen seems a bit unfair.

Yep, and we may never know what the Queen contributes (apart from 99% of her personal life) to the nation, her subjects and/or its many charitable organisations in times of need

I have never watched a Queen's speech and never will. I have nothing in common with her and our lives couldn't be further apart. Privilege based on birthright (which apparently also includes being tested for COVID-19) is abhorrent and I freely admit I would like to see the back of the lot of them.

In 2018/19 the sovereign grant which is the public money the monarchy receives was £67 million. There is much speculation on how much the Queen generates in tourism. And its it's nowhere close to 1.5 billion.
Total foreign tourism to the whole of Britain generates around 2.2 billion. By the way Paris outstrips London in foreign visitors and they chopped the heads off their Aristocrats a long time ago.

A picture of the Queen has appeared on a giant billboard in central London.
It features messages from her speech to the country on Sunday, in which she thanked NHS staff and essential workers.
One of the quotes read: "We will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again."

Irrespective of what thet 'cost' what they bring 'in' outstrips it, therefore we are better off with them.
Someone push the button on the latest roathie, he's the last thing this board needs right now

Normal people like us can't leave it to our families even if we wanted to, it will be taken up in care home fees to look after us in our old age (
£1300 per week in Cardiff for most places

). Believe me my family have just been through it !!
