Lizzy donation?????

Sun Apr 05, 2020 6:43 am

After her maj you know the one the unelected sour faced cow with the dysfunctional family has made her rousing speech to the nation which isn’t heartfelt as it was written for her
Anyway at the end of her speech how much of her untold wealth do you think she will announce she is donating to the NHS
Considering such said wealth was given to her by the British public
COME ON Lizzy dig deep girl :thumbright:

We all know the answer she'll give £0 zilch nothing. Of course she will have given her valuable time via video link to make a speech which will be as inspirational as a Paul Trollope half-time team talk.

Why anyone takes any notice of this bunch of weirdos one of which mingled in the circle of a child molester is beyond me.

What I don’t get the vast amount of people today saying after her prepared speech that she is so wonderful the wealthiest woman in the world and she will be giving NOTHING towards this crisis

She may have already done so as she's donated to disater funds before now, and The Royals contribute about £2bn a year to the UK economy.
Its all explained in the Sovereign Act 2011. She's a top earner for the UK, not a UK top earner.

But I'm probably wasting my time..

The UK economic GDP was £2.85 trillion in 2018. I would gladly lose a small fraction of that £2billion to see the back of them. We would also save a fortune on the Civil List, Security expenditure and could get a good whack of that £2billion back by selling the Royal Households and Royal Palaces.

Perhaps she'll take a 30% pay cut from the Civil List?

Maybe Charles, Camilla and the rest could be furloughed for a few months to also save a few bob?

What anti-Royalists don't grasp is that the Royal family brings in millions of tourists. Tourists don't travel in their hordes to see the President of France. The heads of state cost countries money, whereas the Queen adds money through that tourism. Republicans are usually very jealous people who envy the lifestyle of the Royals. I'm poor, but I wouldn't swap places with the Royals. They have no freedom with their lives mapped out for years ahead. IMHO this is why Prince Harry wants out. They can't throw a sickie because they've got a hangover; they can't refuse to meet people they dislike or who even hate them. They've had to meet former IRA terrorists (now politicians), even though relatives have been blown up by the IRA, yet they have to be civil with these people. Due to tradition their children have to serve in the armed forces and put their life on the line. Ask anyone who's ever been to a conflict zone if someone could be guaranteed to be safe in those areas and even with heightened security the answer will be "NO!" Name a presidential head of State who's children have served in their armed forces? It doesn't happen. Also, the Royals do plenty of work for charities and the Prince's Charities is the 'largest multi-cause charitable enterprise in the UK, raising over £100m annually.'

France has a massive tourist industry worth €198.3 billion to their economy. We were told above that the Royals contribute a poultry £2 billion to the UK economy by comparison.

We all meet people we don't like in our professional life and have to be civil with them. I would imagine the IRA terrorists turned politicians weren't that keen on meeting the Queen either, because in their eyes the Royal institution has been historically responsible for the death of thousands of Irish citizens over the centuries.

I and members of my family have served in the Armed Forces and seen active service, the Royals are again not unique or special in that instance and thousands of ex-servicemen have served in conflict zones around the world and unfortunately many have suffered lifelong injuries or paid the ultimate price.

I am a Republican because I believe that privilege should-not be a birthright it should be earned by hard work. The Royal Family are the complete opposite of social mobility and they are dysfunctional. Just think back to that Prince Andrew interview before Christmas where he arrogantly explained why his privilege allowed him to mingle with a paedophile and stay at his home in New York for 3 days!

Sooner they are gone the better.

Re: Lizzy donation?????

France and the Royals - couldn’t see the link there..other than they are worth about 10% of French tourist revenues.

It is old fashioned, but they also do a lot of good. If you don’t like em, fair enough. Troops would still be sent to war if we had a President. And that’s what puts me off.. you could have Kinnock or Tony Poodle doing the job..and that madman should be banged up..

Two weeks ago I was working in London on a non essential construction site the refurbishment of a cinema complex I returned home and went into lockdown with my family despite my employer threatening me with sack if I went home and by the way I’m not wealthy
I do a grocery run for two elderly neighbours every four days
I Have collected a medical prescription for them
Ps is I am not entitled to this 80% scheme as I have not been self employed for longer than 12 months and paye prior to that so my decision to return home was not to financially benefit

Spot on Popeye all of what you say is true, pity more of these anti royalist just do not get it. :banghead:

As you state, there is no way that I would swap my normal (well sort of normal !! :P ) life to be a Royal.

They do a fantastic Job and do pay their way by bringing in Tourists, and stability not to mention all our commonwealth friends (that's something else these anti Royalists forget).

The only thing that I would change, now that the Monarchy has a long line of succession is cut free some of the Deadwood further down the tree to live a normal wage earning tax paying life.

Rule Britannia

Anything you do for your family, loved ones, neighbours, etc. is to be commended and there are so many people in the same boat currently. Hopefully, the new Government scheme will see you through :thumbright:

Where I am at a loss is your assumption that the Royal Family have done 'nothing' to date and are a drain on our society. Each to their own but from an experiential perspective, I know the good those people (the ones at the very top at least) do without screaming it from the rooftops

We shouldn't mistake a dignified silence (they're often damned if they do and damned if they don't) for non-action or care

Get rid of all the royal family is my feeling. Harrys got the right idea by distancing himself from the lot of them.

Charlie Harper wrote:Get rid of all the royal family is my feeling. Harrys got the right idea by distancing himself from the lot of them.

Ridiculous suggestion. I don't know of anyone worldwide who commands as much respect and admiration as does the Queen. Harry is being led by the nose by his wife and his mental issues are well documented, so his decision to "distance himself" from the royal family can hardly be deemed to be a rational one.

I would concede however that the monarchy should be trimmed down and the offspring of princes/princesses not heir to the throne shouldn't be ennobled.

Pembroke..
I’m in the same boat, tho I do have 3 years books..
I’ve applied for Tesco(driver), and the NHS, which could be porter/catering, or cleaning etc..
Amazon are taking on as well in some areas, but you need a van to make it worthwhile..

Re: Lizzy donation?????

Mon Apr 06, 2020 7:07 pm

Evening all,

I work for Amazon. In these financially difficult times, even if you don't have your own van, you can still make reasonable money.

Most of the contracting companies will pay £130 a day. 18p a mile diesel allowance.

Plenty of days available.

They will provide new vans and charge £200 a week all in to cover necessary insurances
