What's happened so far today?
As cases of Covid-19 across the globe surpass 1.1 million and deaths go above 62,000, here is today's key news:
The UK has reported another 708 deaths - including a five-year-old child. Hospital admissions have gone up in the Midlands and elsewhere and the head of NHS England said there was a long road ahead and appealed to everyone to remain at home wherever possible
A record number of virus deaths has also been recorded in the state of New York, which has seen another 630 deaths reported in the past 24 hours
But there are signs of hope in Spain, as the number of reported fatalities dips below 900 for the first time in three days
There's positive news in Italy too, where there has been a drop in the number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care
Meanwhile in China, where the outbreak began, a day of remembrance has been held to honour those who died

There are idiots not complying but who exactly is predicting that UK is going to be worse than most ?
The stats and predictions simply do not say that.
This graph clearly shows that the peak is being flattened for the UK.
Things are bad enough so let’s not go down the “fake news” road .

Thanks Top Cat.
Those figures are quite surprisingly low. Are Sweden that far behind us as far as dealing with the situation is concerned?
Are they heading for an absolute catastrophe with no restrictions in place or might it be the case that lockdown restrictions don't actually make much difference to infections and deaths?
No doubt all will be revealed over the next few weeks and months.

Wow!
Those are incredible figures.
Not only are the amounts of cases dropping daily but the amount of deaths are dropping as well.
What are Sweden doing that other countries aren't and why is this not been given any publicity in the media?
Perhaps a bit more attention should be given to what is happening there and the way that they are dealing with this crisis.
