Tables & glasses flying everywhere with lots of people getting cut quite badly. We were planning to go to Blackpool after the game - no chance, police escorted us half way home. Im sure that was the game when one of our lot ripped the fag machine off the wall and took it home as a souvenir. thinking back this was a right game mob of boys.
Im sure the organiser of that bus posts on here. you only have to look at the pick-up points to realise the sort of bus this was:-
Senghennydd square,Aber square,Penyrheol,Trecennydd,Lansbury park @ Graig Y Rhacca.

Was up in Cheshire staying with my uncle for a few days. My ol' man wanted to go to Old trafford on that Saturday to see the mancs but persuaded him to go to Oldham instead. I remember walking down the hill towards Boundary Park and it was like the wild west! mayhem everywhere. Loads of Barry boys kicking off left and right. I was 16 and knew a few of them. My old man was a brickie and spotted his labourer Chrisie something (big bugger) swinging left and right.... "O'rite Mac? What the f**k you doing here.....see you Monday!"....then back to swinging.
Wouldn't let me go in the away end so had to watch from the stand with the Oldham fans. He never stopped going on about it. RIP Mac x
Lost 3-2
Best day at Oldham was "Only 2 Andy Goram's".....1-7, mind

My first season that one, albeit home games only.
QPR in league cup at home lost 3-1 to the Stan Bowles show.
That game and practically every home game the enclosure hear the Grange End (which was the away section) was invaded and scuffles took place. It was something odd when they didn’t lol. As a teenager at the time I remember thinking that nobody had fans as mad / tough as us....then we played Spurs in the FA Cup!
Needless to say, there was no invasion of the enclosure that day.
Amazing memories (and fashions) of that time.

Chrissy Abbott, he was as wide as he was tall, one of the legendary Barry mob of the 70's.
