Tougher Lockdown?

Sat Apr 04, 2020 3:23 pm

Do you think that bojo will implement tougher measures WHEN he extends the uk lockdown?!

Will he say non essential construction sites have to close?
Stop people going out for exercise?

With this nice weather we are supposedly happening I doubt people will listen to the stay at home advice,

In Barry we have a council Van with a tannoy driving round telling people to stay at home etc.. anything like that on Cardiff?

The UK could see an estimated 7,000 to 20,000 deaths during the coronavirus pandemic, one of the country's top epidemiologists has said.

Professor Neil Ferguson told the BBC's Andrew Marr that experts believe the number of deaths "could be anywhere between about 7,000 or so up to a little over 20,000".

He said there are "some signs" the lockdown has helped slow the spread of virus, adding that the epidemic will likely plateau in the next seven to 10 days.

Prof Ferguson, whose modelling has guided the UK government on coronavirus, said: "What is critically important then is how quickly case numbers go down - do we see a long, flat peak or do we, as we hope, see a much faster decline?

"That really depends on how effective the current measures are."

NHS England medical director Prof Stephen Powis said last week that if the death toll in the UK was kept below 20,000, "we will have done very well".

How can I stay home I want to as I got kids in the house I do not want to leave my house as it's not safe

I work on a non essential construction site but it remains open even health and safety chiefs are staying home and not visiting sites.

If I stayed home I'd be on sick pay

Government haven't got a clue

This is not lockdown !

1,500 soldiers 'ready to help' in Wales

There are about 1,500 soldiers ready to help Wales, says the man in charge of the military response to coronavirus here.

"There’s been a lot of work behind the scenes, people who are very qualified building hospitals at pace and scale," said Brigadier Andrew Dawes, Commander Joint Military Command Wales.

"We’ve had a number of advisers with the team that has done a fantastic job with the Principality Stadium, but we’ve also managed to offer a number of individuals with engineering experience."
