Not expecting much but for those who need a boost amongst the doom and gloom they could perhaps look on here.

I’ll start by saying that cases in Italy and Spain’s new cases are gradually falling which should mean that they’ll be heading towards their curve soon. Fingers crossed.

Massive rise in the numbers of deaths in France which I'm hoping has got something to do with them adding in Nursing Home deaths. The real positive is the very sharp reduction in new infections. Lets hope that's their lockdown kicking in and we'll have a similar reduction next week.

That’s great re new cases. Roll on when less new cases are visible in the UK.

Grand Slam-winning former Wales rugby captain Ryan Jones aims to run a marathon in his garden tomorrow for charity.

Jones, 39, is raising money for the Swansea Bay health board charitable fund while in isolation at his Gower home.

"I was reflecting on the wonderful things people are doing, which have just blown me away, so I thought of something I could do in the confines of my own home," he said.

Jones, now the Welsh Rugby Union's performance director, calculates he will need to run the length of his garden 700 times to reach the 26 miles (42km).

"I don't think the view is going to be great, just a green length for five or six hours but at least the toilets are clean and nearby, unlike many big events," he joked.

"But there are people going through far worse and if I can raise some money, awareness or even just a few laughs at me, the job's done. It's the least I can do."

The ex-Ospreys forward has already raised more than £2,000 on his Just Giving page.

Youngsters have been left amazed by an assortment of Disney characters appearing at their windows in Cardiff.

Adrian Currie, who runs an entertainment company, has been spending his hour of exercise trying to bring smiles to the faces of kids in Radyr.

He told BBC Radio Wales: "We are just doing what we can to make kids smile."

He has been walking around waving at children and getting them to draw different Disney characters.

"The adults also seem to be enjoying it a lot."

"We wanted to make sure that we respected the guidance around social-distancing and remaining in your homes.

"We were in contact with South Wales Police and spoke to the council and everyone was on board," he said.

People across Wales have taken part in a UK-wide round of applause for health and social care workers.

For the second week, people took to their doorsteps and clapped to show support at 20:00 BST on Thursday.

Emergency services, public authorities and the Welsh Government were among organisations that turned buildings blue in tribute to key workers on the front line of the pandemic.

Health Minister Vaughan Gething said it was "great to hear people applauding our health and social care staff again tonight".

Health Secretary for England, Matt Hancock, has said the UK government's target of carrying out 100,000 coronavirus tests a day in England has "got to happen".

Pressed on whether he could guarantee the target will happen, he said: "I've got a plan to get us there, I've set it as a goal.

"Of course we've got to get there, but there's a huge amount of work to do."

We have to look at that as a positive. He’s clearly been advised that it’s a possibility so let’s go for it.

Coronavirus: Northamptonshire sisters start 'good news' letter

Two sisters have started a 'good news' newsletter to share positive stories during the coronavirus pandemic.

Bethan and Holly Botterill, from Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire, began sharing stories after noticing "negative" stories dominating the news.

People from all over the world have been in touch thanking them for all the good news at such a difficult time.

"It seems to be a lot of doom and gloom so we're trying to show positive things are happening," said Holly.

Bethan, 19, said: "One of our tweets was featured in a BuzzFeed article about positive things people were doing during the pandemic.

"After that a lot of people from around the world started replying from all over the world saying 'thank you', people need this kind of thing right now."

Coronavirus live page: Updates from across the East of England
Marketing graduate Holly, 22, said: "The reason we started it was because what's going on at the minute is negative... it seems to be doom and gloom so we're trying to show positive things are happening even if they're being overshadowed at the moment.

"I think it just kind of shows how much these things affect people mentally and how the news can affect people mentally, so it's important to know there's god news."

The newsletter which is published every weekday quickly gained more 150 subscribers and have included stories about care home residents playing games and penguins exploring an empty aquarium.

"We'll probably carry it on in someway once this is over, the mental health impact will continue in the future," said Holly.

The sisters' newsletter was highlighted by BBC Local Radio Make A Difference campaign, launched in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

It is running across all 39 BBC local radio stations in England and is aimed at connecting communities.

Coronavirus: Nurse's stolen catalytic converter replaced for free

A nurse returned to his car to find his catalytic converter had been stolen during a shift.

Joby Peter, 41, is one of four staff nurses at Royal Stoke Hospital, thought to have been targeted for the valuable part.

He said it was "unbelievable" and "frustrating" thieves should target medical staff during a time of crisis.

After being quoted up to £800 for a replacement, a local manufacturer offered to do the job for free.

Mr Peter noticed there was a problem with his car when it began making a "big noise" as he left work.

He said: "It was unbelievable, frustrating, something happening like this when we are living in this crisis.

"I was going to work in taxis, so when I had this, it's amazing they are doing it."

Klarius Products Ltd, a manufacturer of converters, opened up especially to fit the new part, he said.

Coronavirus in the West Midlands: Latest updates

Wayne Johnson, 46, operations director of the Staffordshire company, said he would provide replacements for the other nurses.

"We reached out and said 'we've got the facility to do it, we'll mend it'," Mr Johnson said, adding it was "really good to give something back".

He said in total, four Royal Stoke nurses with a Honda Jazz had lost the part.

"The [catalytic converter] on those cars are very high value at the moment, it's a common theft," he said.

He praised worker Dan Lucas who came in on his own time to do the fitting during a company shutdown.

Staffordshire Police has been contacted for comment.

Linda Lusardi has left hospital as she recovers from Covid-19, her husband has confirmed.

The former Loose Women star has returned home after becoming extremely ill with coronavirus.

Linda and her husband Sam Kane were both admitted to hospital with the disease earlier this month.

While Sam was discharged a few days later, Linda’s condition was considerably worse, with Sam saying he had watched the virus take her “to death’s door”.

However, in a status he posted on Facebook on Sunday evening, Sam revealed Linda had returned home after “beating” the virus.

“It’s with absolute joy that I can tell you my girl is finally at home,” he wrote. “She’s on the sofa with a nice cup of tea and Dexter on her lap. She’s doing great.

“She’s battled through this hell and with God’s grace has thankfully come out other side.”

The former glamour model tweeted after being admitted to hospital: “I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. So stay safe everyone and follow the advice of the experts – please take care of yourselves, loved ones and each other.”

The rich countries including the UK will be out of this within 7-8 weeks but then will be the rich countries responsibility to massively help the poorer countries who at the moment can’t possibly tackle it. So if you want to look at it selfishly we will be starting to return to a little more normality by then but still need to support the poor countries.

Prince Charles opens Nightingale Hospital in London

Prince Charles has officially opened London's new Nightingale Hospital via video link.

He joined live from his home in Scotland, where he self-isolated after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

He says he was "enormousy touched" to be asked to open the hospital, calling it a "spectacular" feat of work in every sense and was above all "the result of extraordinary collaboration".

He said he was "one of the lucky ones to have Covid-19 mildly" but for some "it will be a much harder journey".

He added that the new hospital offered an "intensely practical message of hope" during the outbreak.

Totally agree that all countries coming out of this should help the ones that would be currently in a crisis.
