Are the days they announce the virus stats & deaths?

Balearics islands Mallorca, Ibiza, Minorca, Formentera etc

That article I posted yesterday about how to identify whether people were actually dying of the virus or would have died anyway is something I have been saying all along.

Below I have pasted a paragraph about the deaths in the Balearics yesterday - makes you wonder ?

The victims were a 70 year-old-woman died at Palmaplanas Clinic, a 100 year old man at the Oasis Residence, a 90 year old man at the Juaneda Clinic, and a man of about 90 years died at the Joan March Hospital. A 93-year-old woman from the Son Ametller Residence died on Monday and a woman in her 70’s from the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital passed away six days ago but their deaths have only just been confirmed. A 72-year-old woman also died in Minorca.

Eddie Large died yesterday and had tested positive for COVID-19.

However, he suffered with heart decease (I believe he had a heart transplant and would have been taking immune suppression medication) so would have likely died sooner rater than later, a classic case of someone with a serious underlying condition.

So while COVID-19 contributed to his death (the proverbial straw that broke the camels back) it is not wholly true that he died from COVID-19

I agree a large percentage of these deaths shown as Covid-19 are as above, probably 80% plus?

The week 13 European Mortality Monitoring figures are out and only show a slight increase, but some countries are showing a decline from the normal figures including Austria, Germany and Northern Ireland. The peaks are still much higher for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 winter periods, which may mean that a lot of those who have died will have done so anyway. Also, others who would have died through RTA's etc are not dying due to restrictions in travel etc. In the three countries with lower figures, the lower contact levels may have reduced levels of those with underlying conditions who would normally have died from flu and cold type viruses.

we see all these daily figures for corona virus deaths... but no figures on how this effects the mortality rate... are these figures to be added to the 1500 people a day that die in the UK ,1700 in Italy and 1400 in Spain..or is there an overlap ?

and popeyes link above shows very little if any spike in deaths..?
