"The Wedding" Pompey 6:57 away to Cardiff.. 1984..
Great little rivalry the City had with Pompey . Top mob fair play.
They fooled the police at Cardiff Central Train Station.
So well organised.
Also to this day very very loyal supporters to their club in big numbers away.

Did they dress up as wedding guests to get through the Police cordon?

Yes they did and got straight in to our City Centre and in our main Graham’s that’s where it went off big time in the Grandstand as Cardiff had hundreds in there as well. No police for ages.

Tony,
They have their own casual picture book , it’s quality and they were massive in the 80s for a Lower league club.
So well organised and dressed .

My mate txt me earlier about these photos, he knows exactly what happened , I told him to post a reply on here, but he hasn't, so I will. This lot in their suits got done on Cardiff Central station after the game, they saw a lot of Rhondda boys waiting on platform 6 for the Treherbert train, tbf Pompey came over for a bit of nonsense, got half way up the steps, and went straight back down once their front half a dozen got put on their arses by some well known Valley naughty boys.
Happy days, Up The City.

I’m thinking that guy with the fag was in the Canton Stand in the 82 game..there were about 8-10 Pompey there, and fisticuffs started. If it’s him, he said ‘ we’re Pompey we don run from no-one’. Then one of our lot gave him a right good smack..
Plod then grabbed them and took them out..
38 bloody years ago..
