‘West Brom striker Charlie Austin has urged people not to take coronavirus lightly after testing positive. The English 30-year-old suspects he contracted it at the Cheltenham Festival.’ It was idiotic that they held the Cheltenham Festival. A decision fuelled by greed

It's okay whining after the event but Charlie Austin could have self-isolated from the event and he chose to go of his own volition ;)

Sporting events (at that point) were not ordered or required to close down. Risk assessments would have been made and a lot had been invested into the week itself, so it could be argued that they did nothing wrong by continuing

Once the message went out that large gatherings were to be discouraged (and later prevented) any events that went ahead from that point are the ones that need to be questioned :thumbright:

Totally agree with you Sven (Chris).

That said Charlie Austin could easily of caught it somewhere else which is why self-isolation is so important.

You both beat me to it.
It was indeed strange that it went ahead when everything else was cancelled though.
