PETITION TO BUILD WHITTS A STATUE

Hi all.
Following today’s tragic news, we started petition to build Peter Whittingham a statue in his honour outside the stadium.
We currently have over 500 signatures, with the next target being 1000.

I loved Whitts as a City player and legend; but retire his shirt no.?

The statue has some merit; but a 'Hall of Fame' might be a better fit, so Whitts could be remembered along with other magnificent City heroes down the years

I would love a statue of Whitts and a picture in and around our stadium to remember him and honour his football career with our club.

I agree with you, retiring the shirt would mean not seeing that shirt again which indicate we’d forgotten him.

I would prefer that whoever wears the shirt/number would obviously have his name there on. If possible it could be called the Peter Whittingham shirt and carry his name somewhere on the shirt and all the No 7,s sold.

At least that way he would always be remembered and his name carried on for eternity. Which Legends should do!

I am Whitt’s biggest fan - along with thousands of others of course - but I don’t like this retiring the shirt nonsense.

For me, I’d like to see a stand named after him. The Family Stand appears to be a perfect choice in my opinion.

I think this is a better idea than a statue. His name will be kept alive for generations and spoken and remembered all the time.

I would like to see the Family Stand named after Whitts and a bust on a plinth under the stand.
