West Ham emerge as contenders to sign Wolves' Dion Sanderson and join Aston Villa and Norwich in battle for Cardiff starlet — reports

Dion Sanderson is attracting interest after his loan move to Cardiff City

Premier League outfit West Ham are the latest club to enter the race to sign Cardiff City’s on-loan starlet Dion Sanderson from Wolves this summer.

Wolves will be looking to recall the talented youngster and wont be in any hurry to sell him off for peanuts, they will either want to keep him or demand a very high transfer fee.

The young right back had enjoyed very little exposure to senior football before moving to the Welsh capital in January, but has certainly caught the attention with his recent displays.

He has started the last three matches for the Bluebirds and has garnered widespread acclaim from City fans.

And now, the Daily Mail report that West Ham have emerged as the latest club preparing a bid for the player this summer.

Brighton and Norwich City have also lodged an interest, it is claimed.

It comes just a day after it was claimed fellow top-flight outfit Aston Villa were interested in recruiting him in the summer window.

It is evidence of just how impressive the youngster has been since Neil Harris brought him in on deadline day in a swift and shrewd move from the Bluebirds boss, following the exit of City stalwart Lee Peltier.

Sanderson’s dynamism and athleticism has been a real asset to Cardiff in recent weeks, adding a potent attacking threat down the right-hand side.

It has prompted many to urge the club to re-sign him for next season, but it now appears the Bluebirds will face incredibly stiff opposition.

Should Sanderson be snapped up by one of those Premier League clubs, although both could still conceivably be relegated should the league resume in its current state, it would represent a blow to Harris.

The manager would doubtless want to acquire the player’s services again next term, given the form he has displayed in the Welsh capital in recent months.

All three interested are relegation candidates Annis, would wolves want him to go to a team that are struggling? And as good as he has been in his very short stay with us,he is not going to be playing like he has for an extended period, have seen many youngsters have a good start, then drop off form wise, not knocking him in any way,and he could well be a star player in the making, but it's early days in his career, I hope he stays for the whole of next season personally, but many more displays of the same ilk, will undoubtedly have the vultures circling. :old: :bluebird:
