Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy could be looking for a new job in the summer if Euro 2020 is cancelled.

He is only contracted to the Republic of Ireland until the summer and if the tournament is cancelled their playoff with Slovakia won’t go ahead before the summer. The current play is for him to be replaced by Under-21s boss Stephen Kenny.

Sky Sports News reporter Aidan Magee said: “I spoke to Mick McCarthy yesterday. His situation is that he’s got the playoffs next month for the Republic of Ireland, if the Euros gets canned then he’s out of work as his contract only runs until the summer. So, maybe he’ll be looking for a job?”
