Italy to ask Uefa for Euro 2020 postponement
The Italian Football Federation will ask Uefa to postpone Euro 2020 on Tuesday as more sports prepare to shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Uefa will host an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss whether the Champions League, the Europa League and Euro 2020 can be played after domestic leagues in most of Europe shut down.
And on Sunday, Italian Football Federation (FIGC) president Gabriele Gravina told Sportsmediaset: “We will propose that Uefa postpone the European Championship.
“We will try to get to the end of this championship (Serie A) because it is fairer and more correct after the many investments and sacrifices of our clubs.”

Euro 2020 may now be held in December amid coronavirus chaos - reports
A crunch meeting will be held on Tuesday when big decisions will have to be made
By Jon Doel
Monday 16th March 2020
Euro 2020 could now be staged in December this year, according to reports.
The Telegraph say Uefa officials will consider the radical proposal at a crunch meeting on Tuesday after the sporting world went into lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The Uefa emergency meeting will see representatives from all 55 member associations debate the best way forward.
Football bosses must work out how to finish the various league seasons around Europe, with no definitive time frame on when things will return to normal. As well as Euro 2020, the Champions League and Europa League finals could also be moved.
The summer of 2021 remains an option for the Euros, which Wales have once again qualified for after reaching the semi-finals in 2016.
Moving the Euros to December would mirror the current plans for the 2022 World Cup, which is being played in November and December to help players cope with the heat in Qatar.
Premier League and EFL football matches are currently on hold until early April, but there remains significant doubt fixtures will resume then.
One option could be to scrap the entire season, but most clubs are adamant the season must be finished, even if that means playing on into the summer, when the Euros are currently scheduled for.
As well as football, a host of major sporting events, including the Six Nations and Masters golf tournament, have been postponed.

It makes sense to postpone it to winter at least.
We would then have a few seasons starting in February/March ahead of 2022 World Cup that is going to be in winter anyway.
The only worry is the second wave of this virus is expected in winter of this year.
Would hopefully time for domestic leagues to complete the season.
Champions League and Europa League must surely be scrapped this season.
But there is no chance the Euros can take place in June.

FIFA REVIEWING CORONAVIRUS IMPACT
Monday 16th March 2020
FIFA is reviewing the impact postponed fixtures will have on player contracts and registrations during the coronavirus outbreak.
World football’s governing body is holding talks over the ramifications the coronavirus pandemic will have on football, including players who may be asked to complete domestic seasons out of contract.
Each FIFA member association must define two official registration periods for each season of professional men’s and women’s football.
FIFA spokesperson has told Sky Sports News: “FIFA is analysing the current situation and the potential impact it may have on all areas of football, including player contracts. More information will follow in due course.”
In England and Scotland, the men’s transfer window is scheduled to open on 10 June and close on 1 September, while the women’s transfer window is set to run from June 19 to September 10 in England and July 1 to July 31 in Scotland.
The FA and SFA yet to say whether they intend to change dates of this summer’s transfer windows.
