A massive proportion of clubs income, and particularly PL clubs income, is spent on player salaries. Their resilience here, and their ability to aid other clubs, is directly linked to whether they continue to pay players during this time. I'd imagine that sky and other broadcasters are less than pleased that football has decided to close down independently, or at least ahead of, government advice.

Dare we say it, Wez; our club shouldn't be one of them thanks to the debt-reducing policy of a certain benefactor ;)

A picture paints a 1000 words. Just look at the Stock Markets from the USA. The Dow Jones Index to be precise:

Sven, hopefully we will ride this out, but even the most biased on here will see that will be down to the prudence shown by the board.

( I doubt it though )

Tan has said more than once his aim is a debt free club running within it's means. It could be that his prudent and sensible approach will ensure our long term future. Plenty of fans were happy to gamble with his money and hope to spend a fortune to give us an outside chance of promotion while Tan is more concerned with the long term future rather than looking no further than May. Perhaps that explains why he is a successful businessman with enough cash to buy the club in the first place. Our long term future should be about more than where we finish this season, and hopefully his measures will ensure we have a long term future. Personally, I don't feel he has done much wrong here other than the red shirt fiasco, and I would rate him as the best owner of this club since I became a fan in 1966.

Agreed, best owner I’ve seen in my time since 1988.

I remember him saying when he first arrived he wanted to make Cardiff City known worldwide. If I was to pick a positive from the awful red rebrand situation, it certainly afforded us publicity on a global scale. Having reflected, I often wonder if that was the plan all along from a clever businessman, although I was angry at the time.

Which makes buying shares at the moment a prudent thing because they are at bargain prices. The golden rule of stock trading is buy low sell high.

The world economy will bounce back eventually and that will make some people extremely rich.

I think you are right especially those who have over stretched themselves. Mind you there could be a window of opportunity for those clubs who are more stable.

You can add me to the list,as sad as this situation is turning out to be,tan should be recognised for his prudent planning, but we all know, even if we won the premier league, some supporters will never sing his praises,up to them I suppose.I do get the analogy of the red fiasco though.have got to feel for lower league clubs though,as a large percentage of them rely on gate monies to pay the bills,I do fear a few will, go to the wall,if as expected this escalates beyond the quoted early April re-start,which I believe is wishful thinking from th FA.stay safe everyone, and check up,on elderly family, friends and neighbours, far more important than any sport. :old: :bluebird:
