CORONAVIRUS

Quite a few on here 'making things up'.
This epidemic is bad enough without people posting absolute nonsense.
If you do not have factual information, STOP POSTING YOUR NONSENSE ON HERE!
It is getting to the point of scare mongering.

If you want to talk about facts it’s a pandemic not an epidemic so more nonsense then.

Yes but people should stick to the facts rather than speculation

The NHS states that an epidemic is likely in the UK. Pandemic is when a virus spreads around the world, which it is.
Like the NHS I am referring to us in the UK.

Are you serious? People on here should not speculate? The whole forum is built on that.

The amount of made up shite and speculation on here is beyond.
The Sala tragedy is the perfect example over the last year! It’s beyond embarrassing what some people spout.

Thank you Monty boy!
I seem to be fine after travelling Asia and Australia but I have a dry cough and a bit of a fever.
Shall we meet up at the Leeds game?

Thing is, this is predominantly about my post about the Cardiff game no doubt.

At the end of the day, I said it wasn’t confirmed but I definitely implied that it’s 100% cancelled.

I shouldn’t have said 100%, no. But looking at the facts, it really should’ve been. Not a single news outlet or researcher in the UK expected Boris Johnson to keep fans attending sporting events. Nobody is scare mongering.

I don’t think you guys quite understand how different we’re about to live our lives soon. Face the reality of the situation. It’s not just a “cold”. Nobody knows how bad it can be in a few weeks or months. I’m hopeful that these games get postponed or Atleast played behind closed doors because that will mean the UK is finally trying to stop the spread. As it stands, a lot of people including myself are concerned at the UK’s response to this.

I'm guessing you must be a youngster. I think quite a few of us know how bad it can get. Plenty of us were around when smallpox, TB, Polio and others were causing problems. While this should not be taken lightly, there is no need to go completely over the top. Like I said on another post today, all you need to do is sing happy birthday twice and you will be fine apparently, as long as you give your hands a quick swill. ;)

My thinking is that many have already had it and as some cases are very mild to moderate, they don't / didn't even realise.
80% may well contract the virus and unfortunately there will be some loss of life, but my thinking is that there are 10? deaths atm in the UK and the peak is expected late May so surely the government's (and health expert's) thinking of 'not too drastic too soon' seems about right?

Re: CORONAVIRUS

Like I said. I wasn’t making anything up. I was giving everyone who was about to make plans for Sunday a prewarning that it was going to be cancelled. Here we are 2 days later with people telling me I look silly and making out I was over reacting.

It’s been cancelled, as I wanted it to be, for the sake of slowing the spread down.

I understand people don’t like fake news, but I assure you I was just stating the obvious and trying to tell people how bad the situation is, and now it has been cancelled I hope people realise this.

I wasn’t making out I knew secret info and I wasn’t saying it would be cancelled just to scare people. As I keep saying it was in complete good faith to warn people not to make plans on Sunday. And I didn’t know “secret information”, I just researched it with reliable sources and came to the conclusion that it was pretty obvious we wouldn’t be attending the games.

I’m sure the few people who mocked me directly won’t apologise but to be fair, I understand.

Hope you're not including me in that mate as all I said was to 'wait for official announcement'.

Leon... Nobody mocked you for stating the game might be off, they pulled you up for being a drama queen with lines like

We are in a war and the world will never be the same again.

It was overdramatic then and its overdramatic now.

You won't get analogy from me as I stand by everything I have said on the matter.

he is not the only one... what I find strange though is most people I actually talk to are more shocked at the meltdown and the harm it will cause than the virus itself...

I think I would have been surprised as well, but having seen the previous reaction to a couple of flakes of snow, you almost expect a major panic in this country every time some sort of threat crops up. I don't think social media helps much, and the press and the BBC etc love a major crisis. Once they have a vaccine for this, the mainstream media will be desperate for an asteroid to be on a collision course with our planet, but if they can't find one an earthquake or a plane crash will do as a consolation. Don't read or hear much about the number of people recovering from this virus, deaths obviously attract more viewers.
