Looking forward to it

I made the decision to give this one a miss. Better be safe than sorry I think this should be behind closed doors especially as it's on tv. Not worth the risk with two young children at home. The odds are good at least someone in that ground has the Virus.

Why take unnecessary risks with your health. I'm staying away!!

You cannot catch Northern

Whilst I respect any individual who decides not to attend Sundays match,I presume you will also decline visiting the supermarket and the garage, won't take and pickup from school etc.
In other words, don't be selective but isolate properly.

Children appear less at risk of damage possibly due to their immune system development stage relating to levels of cytokines..but not at less risk of contracting the virus. According to New Scientist.

I am expecting that Sundays match and possibly the following one may be our last chance to see live football this season. With currently only 25 diagnosed cases of the virus in Wales, to date, I hope we have little chance of infection being spread during Sundays match, but it's becoming very likely matches in the near future will either be held behind closed doors or cancelled altogether. Can't argue with this decision when it is enforced. Better safe than sorry!

From reports on tv it seems children are virtually immune to this illness.
The only people who are in any kind of danger appear to be those older ones with serious underlying pre-conditions (weakened immune systems and respiratory problems).
80% of people will be unaware they have the virus. How many times have you heard people say their doctor told them they had a virus, then if you see them a few days later they were better?
A doctor said going to football or any sporting event puts you in no danger as most people are the other side of the stadium and well out of reach of transfer of a virus.

I've survived several trips to Swansea with no long term medical affects so I doubt this is going to be any worse.

The danger is posed by fans who ignore the official advice and dont self isolate when they should, and go to the game putting others at risk.

sensible decision especially if you drive to the game . 40 people a week die in road traffic accidents in the UK... 1.3 million a year worldwide.
Thu Mar 12, 2020 7:52 pm
It was previously reported that 100,000 people in the UK would die as a result of this virus. Today at the cobra announcement it was said that on a worst case scenario 80% of the population would catch the virus of which 1% would die. Based on a population of 60m that is 480,000 people. Even on a far lower percentage than 80% that's a scary number of people and I can fully understand people not wanting to risk catching it going to a football game and passing it on to their elderly relatives especially when it's on TV

why ?
in no way shape or form did anyone suggest there would be half a million deaths... had they our media would be in meltdown, and schools would 100% be closed.

They were asked and refused to say the number just the percentages. Watch it yourself

I'm not going as a safety issue it's all to close to home now it's not worth the risk is it.
Was looking forward to it aswel me and my 3 kids were going cost me over 100 quid but its sensible to stay away and take a hit on the money me thinks.
Good luck to the bluebirds hope we smash weeds I hate em with a huge passion

That’s fair enough. Personal choice etc.
I’m going tho. Wonder what attendance will be?

i have watched it. its thought as many as 10k are already mildly infected and therefore not recorded. so that 95% you haven't factored in..

Coronovirus isnt putting me off going.
Its the turgid football, ponderous tactics, half a shift effort from the players, along with likely 3 nil drubbing from Jimmy Sav's boys and a crap atmosphere thats put me off going.

Only on a ccfc messageboard would a Coronavirus thread turn into a negative football topic lol

There’s as much chance of being infected in a train station, on a bus, at home, in a shop, at work, in the cafe/pub/restaurant etc etc as a football game.
I’ll make my decision on Sunday but I question why 75,000 people will be allowed into the Arms Park on Saturday and probably another 25,000 floating about the city centre.

I've never trusted a word thats come out of Boris' mouth but when he says a lot of people are gonna lose loved ones I don't think hes saying it for any sort of political gain.In my view only commercial pressure has stopped the English gov going the same way as the Irish and Scots. This will change soon. The body bag count will determine government policy. That will also change soon.As a 62yo type 1 diabetic of 35yrs I hope I'll still be around to argue the toss with all of you in 6 months but now is not the time for bravado.I won't be going on Sunday.

Wow that is scary if those figures are anything to go by. Cobra do tend to overestimate things but that is their business being the ultimate emergency get together of the highest powers in the land. Even so these figures should be taken seriously and all precautions should be taken. They might get it wrong and people will become angry but its better to be angry than dead.
