Reports suggest there has been a case of coronavirus discovered within the Spanish club's basketball team
Real Madrid's football stars are in quarantine due to a coronavirus case in the club's basketball team, according to reports.
A raft of fixtures around the globe - including Manchester City's Premier League clash with Arsenal - have been postponed as a result of the outbreak.
La Liga had previously confirmed that Real Madrid's next two home outings will be played behind closed doors.
It means there will be no fans in attendance for their clash with Eibar on Friday night, or for Valencia's trip to the Santiago Bernabeu on March 21.
However, it's has since been confirmed that La Liga fixtures have been suspended.
The tour Bernabeu has also been temporarily closed until further notice.
And journalist Kristof Terreur reports that Zinedine Zidane's squad were sent home from training on Thursday morning.
"Real Madrid are in quarantine too - a corona case in the basketball team, that has an influence on the football club too," he wrote on Twitter.
"All Real Madrid football players have been sent home this morning."
All Real Madrid players sent home will have to remain away from the training facilities for 15 days.
They will all be isolated and tested for coronavirus.
An official statement from the Spanish club read: "Real Madrid C. F. announces that a member of our basketball first team has tested positive for coronavirus.
"The recommendation of remaining in quarantine has been followed with immediate effect, with this measure applied to both the basketball and football first teams, given that the two squads share the facilities at Real Madrid City.
"In addition, a decision has been made to close our training ground and it is recommended that all Real Madrid staff who work at Real Madrid City remain in quarantine.
"The EuroLeague basketball match and the LaLiga football fixture scheduled for today and tomorrow will not be played."
It comes after Aaron Ramsey's Juventus team-mate Daniele Rugani tested positive for coronavirus.
The Italian giants confirmed the news on Wednesday night, and also revealed that they are currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law.
