What year was that ? I can remember fans on that fence and jumping on the burger stall. I think it was in 1992?

I think the upper tier was removed by 92?

The good old days. I remember going to the Vetch when their portable turn-style was pushed over and loads of us walked in behind the goal for free. The coppers tried to grab some Cardiff fans to send back outside, but as they weren't sure who paid and who didn't they couldn't do much about it. My mate and I calmly walked past the puzzled coppers nice and quietly and had a cheap day out. I'm sure a few of you guys were there!

A nice summer evening that was.. a few Jason Donovan mullets there.
Budgie from Gabalfa was on the fence that night, if anyone remembers him..

We had some fantastic turnouts away from home back in the day and created some great atmospheres. But the picture also reminded me of the cages we were kept in and how shit we were treated wherever we went.

quality of video isn't very good but the goal was.

One of the best trips i had there was when the council laid on loads of scruffy buses from the station,there must have been 100 per bus,the journey to the ground was mental with bus seats being thrown through windowless buses .
My memory of the game was city fans orchestrating the masses with their backs to the game all day long,great atmosphere that day.

I think that was the 1st and last time the gypo council laid on buses. Can't remeber the year but every bus turned up at the ground a total shell. Unreal

Got there on the 2nd train and there was only 1 turnstile open. Massive queues and missed Curtis’s goal.

Has to watch it back on TV when we eventually got home.

A lovely warm summer eve that was just after securing promotion. I must have made about 10 trips to the vetch but can never recall paying for the train or to get in the ground. They should have given us the north bank that day, squashed in to f**k we were as so many just got in for free.....

Our next visit there a few months later v the jacks was just as special if I recall. 1 nil down from the game at Ninian we scored two late goals to take the tie over 2 legs. Pandemonium

Now that was a great atmosphere , despite as you say Gilos last minute winner. I remember it so clearly to the point of remembering the moon coming up behind that half a stand they had at the far end just before he popped in that goal.

That crowd made 5 times as much noise as Cardiff City’s crowds currently are making with 22,000.

Thing is, that support was mainly all lads, and we had the terraces.. great fun

That is true modern stadiums are laid out in such a way that its hard to get a good atmosphere even with a big crowd.new arsenal and west ham terrible.good Bristol city and Charlton old stadiums mostly seated but those seats very near the pitch.

Best game there was the 1988 Boxing Day game.. 2-2 with Gilligan scoring a late equaliser. Atmos electric that day

That was in the days when the top stand above the away end was used. They were stamping their feet and it was like the whole structure was moving.

There were skirmishes all afternoon in the Bank to our left.
