Bayern v Hoffenheim protest

Sat Feb 29, 2020 7:56 pm

Not sure I agree with this. People have paid good money to watch the game and also a lot of money will have been placed on bets.

The players really shouldn't be refusing to play though.

Interesting though the 50+1 rule could be great in the championship

trouble with banners carrying messages is that they only represent some fans not all...
but how long would those banners last in our league..? would you even get in the ground.

The banner isn’t even that offensive.

Even having read up on events I'm not sure I understand.

Game was at Hoffenheim and the Bayern fans protested against Hoffenheims owner.

Would game have ended like it did if Bayern were losing 1 nil?

Surely security could have removed banner or the fans for that matter if they thought wrong was being done?

Read various translations but banner seems to have made an unpleasant referernce to the mans mother.

I believe the protest was about him getting around the german league rules by buying a non league team and throwing money at it to make it become a top tier side with him as some owner which is not allowed under the 50+1 rule for league teams.

They are the only team in the bundesliga with a sole owner
