Cardiff City's Josh Murphy was involved in a car accident on the A470 on Friday morning.
Saturday 29th February 2020
There were no injuries to the Bluebirds winger or any other party.
Despite the incident, the 25-year-old was well enough to attend training later that day and is in contention for selection for the Bluebirds' Championship clash with Brentford this afternoon. You can follow live updates on the game here.
The news that Murphy was unharmed in the incident is, of course, greatly welcomed, but it will be an added bonus to Bluebirds fans given the run of form he has recently been in.
Despite not scoring in the last two games, Murphy went on a run of netting five times in his previous six outings as he looked to regain his top form.
Without the genius of Lee Tomlin in the ranks, City fans will be turning to Murphy to add that ingenuity and flare as the Bluebirds look to get their top-six push back on track.

We really need getting behind this kid this afternoon, he is our best finisher , but looks shot of that swagger he had last season.

Agree, it was good that we applauded him. I even got a Murphy do the ayatollah chant going and he duly obliged.
