NEIL HARRIS: " JOE RALLS "

NEIL HARRIS:

Talks about Joe Ralls

NEIL HARRIS:

"Great character. Great trainer. Great around the place. Super footballer.

"I just haven't seen a lot of it on the pitch because he's not been fit."

Harris is also well aware that Ralls' pedigree in this division is likely to increase the calls for him to be a regular inclusion in this side - starting with Brentford this weekend.

But, as ever, there's a balancing act to these things.

"There's a temptation for everybody to want Joe Ralls in the team and to play him because he's a very good player.

"Getting him fit that's the one. Saturday is Brentford. Under-23s game Monday. The decision for me is where he gets his minutes. In the first team or the under-23s to get him up to speed. "

But while it's not clear whether Ralls will be thrown into deep end this weekend, it's obvious to everyone that he still has a big part to play over the next few weeks.

Indeed, it has to be stressed that Harris is as much of a fan of the midfielder as anyone.

"What I do know is that he adds something to our squad," he added.

"Cardiff City as a group is better with Joe Ralls in it."

As good a player Joe Ralls is he will and can never be another Tomlin and Joe would be the first to admit that so I hope Harris will realise that and not expect a like for like replacement
