Thought he was looking for a local team? Couldn’t get much further away could he? He does realise New South Wales is in Australia?

No one wanted him.

Isn't that the team now managed/coached by Joe's former Wales team mate Carl Robinson? :?

Sadly, Joe Ledley is a mercenary who will go where the coin is....

I honestly believe he would have turned into a much better player if he stayed with us instead of dropping to the inferior SPL standard which halted his potential at that age. By the time he eventually moved to the Premiership, it was too late and he stagnated as an average Championship standard player. He could have had a similar career to Joe Allen if he kept testing himself at a good level and been at a club where he could train with better players every day to bring his own game on. I think Ledley will regret his career choices knowing he could have achieved more.

I agree, ive always though that Celtic was an awful move ..almost guaranteed to finish top 2 and 20 or 30 points ahead of 3rd , 80% of the time playing against lge1 standard players

Happy moving that far away from his family and new home? Be surprised if that was the case. Also surprised that not one club in the uk wanted him.

Much bigger club than us, doubled his money and like Bellamy and Hartson did well there, played in Champions league / Europa League every season against the best clubs in the World! Key player in Welsh team than got to semi finals of Euros. How many City players have achieved more than Joe? Outstanding career by one of our own!

Hartsons career was on a downward slope and Bellamy played a handful of games there on loan after a massive fall out at Newcastle... .and that in a nut shell is who goes there, its not a career move.. its a poor league and I don't think a couple of games against decent clubs fielding weakened teams in the Europa lge makes up for it..
yes he took the money but I think he was better than that... but maybe your right and those were his limitations.. we or he will never know..

He played well for Palace in the Premier league for the 1st 2 years he was there.
Always remember the goal he scored against Sheffield United after Black Friday

Just watched a bit of the Newcastle jets game v's Perth glory on tv out here in Oz, Joe was in the stands. Quite a strong Welsh/Celt connection in the side, Carl Robinson is manager, looks like Kenny Miller is his no.2, Wes Hoolahan playing. They played some pretty football but both sides made lots of mistakes. Not sure the standard is much better than league 2.
