We will get about 14-15 more which will be about 8 short.

very surprised when i went through Harris's championship record Played 19 won 7 drew 8 = giving him 1.95 points per game

11 game @ 1.95 = 21 points. That maybe close, but not on the last 2 games performances.

Llan, you might want to check your maths here.

29 points from 19 games is 1.52 points per game not 1.95.

11 games at 1.52 points gives just under 17 points which definitely won't be enough.

 Not sure why i felt the need to to use 57 point (19*3)/19

Anyway thanks for reinforcing my view that Harris is not up to it, i got worried.

Given how much all the teams are bottling it this year 70 points may be enough to sneak into it.

I think we need to win 7, possibly 8 of our last 11 games to have a chance of the play offs. Considering we have won just 12 all season, I would say the chances of that are zero. Considering how we are playing plus the fact that our only creative player is injured, I would say we will finish roughly where we are now. I have never though that this squad was good enough to finish higher than around 10th place, and looking at our current form, even that may have been an over optimistic forecast. We were always going to be playing Championship football next season, and unless there is some serious quality brought in during the Summer, next season could be a long struggle for us.

Let's be honest, we are nowhere near ready to go up and if we somehow did manage to go up, we will be coming straight back down.

We need to clear out the squad, hopefully accumulating a decent transfer kitty and then see what Neil Harris can do to build his own squad this summer. It's the only way I believe we can change our playing style to better equip ourselves to handle the Premier League.

Feeling like we will not get into play offs, even if we did and managed to get promoted, I don't think this squad or manager is anywhere capable of competing.

Aside from West Brom do any of these teams stand a realistic chance next season?

Forests defence might see them run it close. Maybe Brentford would do okay in the prem. Just doesn’t seem to be very high quality league this year. Mind you saying that the prem is pretty shit too ATM.

all this clear out stuff ?. we really are not that bad mate..2nd best home record in the league prior to Tuesday.. 6 points off the play offs.. where as a clear out even if it were possible would 100% mean sub standard replacements..

Exactly we need better coaching and an actual plan of how we want to play for a start. Just hope we don’t continue to waste millions buying in old average players with no sell on value.

they have already said loud and clear they are looking to cut back...
so the odds are that if another club will pay hypothetically 4 mill for player A ,and then we go and buy player B for 2 mill we have a worse player than what we started with... this really isn't even close to the worse squad we could have.. yet people want wholesale change regardless... insane..

We've got to plan for the future as well. We have a slow, overpaid, ageing squad and there are certain players in our squad who don't have the correct character to consistently perform. Our performance away to Birmingham is the best example of how our players choose to only try to perform when they want to. It isn't good enough.

Also, why are you assuming we would only get sub standard replacements if we sell players? Neil Harris might bring some great players in, we won't know until he's given the chance.

This is the first time in my 30 years supporting us where I wouldn't be disappointed if any of our players leave. I think every single player in our squad is replaceable.

assuming ? yes its possible that he can find a rough diamond..but 2...3...4...5...6
not asking much there... don't know why people always look at the exception to the rule ?
its not assuming mate...clubs pay money for players based on how good they are.. selling ours and buying cheaper that are better ? that's not what happened this season with a very experienced manager. you buy cheap and chances are you downgrade if it wasn't the case jurgen and pep would be shopping in bundersligue 2 as well...

Loads of points to play for ....

Re: 33 points to play for

not only did we lose 2 must win games, but we didn’t even look like wanting to win. Nobody can say we’ll finish in the playoffs. Current form says so, average points this season says so, Harris’ record says so. If we do manage it it’ll be because something has changed behind the scenes or absolute poor form from 4 or 5 other sides, which I can’t see happening. Would love us to be in with a shout for a little longer, even keeping the bragging rights with the JB’s open for a while but I can’t see it. We’ll finish below them, out of the playoffs and top half if we’re lucky.

We won’t get more than 12 points from now until the season end

I gaurantee you we will finish above Swansea. Playoffs likely over given Tomlin is out. Only hope is that other teams bottle it big time. Been a pretty shit year for championship football.

I hope you’re right about Swansea. The fact that you think the Championship is shit this year only proves the fact Tan missed a massive opportunity to go for promotion with an exciting manager and a few quality players. With Norwich West Ham Watford/Villa coming down, next year will be tougher again.
