No investment is he prepping to sell?

Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:35 pm

I wonder? Im happy if our debt is getting payed off with parachute payments, sala fee is basically paid with the bobby reid money, we are seeing next to no investment now leads me to think amid recent buy outs turned down is vincent tan ready to sell and that is why he isnt investing any more money in us now?

Continuing to pay the wages of all the players, staff, office staff etc etc, funding the running of the academy, travel and hotel costs but yes of course there is no investment from VT. Open your blinkered eyes.

Yes he is investing in the way you mentioned above. But that is basically basic running costs of the business he has to do to keep it going, investment as in players coming in is a bit different..

Slightly inaccurate, in that we have had more income than expenditure on transfers this season. We sold both Zohore & Reid for reportedly 8m & 10m and I cant see how we spent 16m. Regardless of the financial situation regarding Sala it looks like our income exceeds expenditure and none of the parachute payment has been put into transfer activity.

Believe that it’s already been reported that there is unlikely to be any funds available for transfers in the summer. Let’s wait and see.

We sold Bobby Reid in January not the summer ,if you want to go on income we recieved as well we are 2nd highest spenders as Bristol and brentford received more than they spent like most teams in the championship not many teams only a few teams spent more than they received Fulham being the highest

Don't forget the 3 million for Manga as well. We will almost certainly make a profit on last year- results are due by end of this week-and it is clear Tan is going to use the Parachute payments- £80 million over two years- to keep the club going and to repay pay some of the money due to him. He wont invest in players so a back of the envelope job calculates he should be able to repay himself at least 40 million over the next two years. That's when its likely he will sell the club.

I am fully aware of when Bobby Reid was sold. Just making the point that the club are not one of the great spenders when you take into account the amount of income coming in. It was the same last season when we spent 24.5m on in the summer Premiership transfer window. No doubt a little more would have given us a great chance of staying up. It’s clear that the club’s priority is reducing debt & just ticking along without a great deal of investment in the team. Not saying that’s wrong but fans have to be realistic in that we are not going to bring in quality when there is no money being put aside for it. Believe many fans will walk away at the end of this season. Transfers where there was believed to be a fee involved. Plus we receive a parachute payment.

Out:

Rhys Healey (Undisclosed)
Bruno Manga (Transfer fee 3m?)
Kenneth Zohore (Transfer fee 8m?)
Bobby Reid Loan & became permanent Jan 10m?)

In:

Will Vaulks 2.1m
Aden Flint 4m
Gavin Whyte (Undisclosed)
Robert Glatzel (Transfer fee 5m?)
Marlon Pack (Undisclosed)
Isaac Vassell (Undisclosed)
Aaron Bolger (Undisclosed)

We have spent a lot of money unfourtunetly most of it was wasted on old average players with zero sell on potential.

I agree ,on one hand we've had a lot of money coming in since 2013 but have wasted a lot too ,we are not the only ones tho a lot of clubs are in the same boat as us in the championship everyone gambling for the premiership money but in reality is it really worth it ?

Tan put his hand in his pocket. It’s not his fault that Warnock pissed it away.

I think in the real world we got what we paid for...
you cant be losing . manga, arter, camarasa, reid, gunner, zohore and bamba and think what we spent replacing was adequate..

Yes they did check the figures out ,Bristol and brentford took more money in than they spent, championship teams in general apart from Fulham are in profit on sales to income ,the facts are that we did spend but we didn't spend on players as good as our rivals
