Stoke are in a false position

Sat Feb 22, 2020 10:35 pm

Considering the players they have and the start they had Stoke are not as bad as their position suggests.
They’ll put a few more teams to the sword before the season ends, bad day move on to the next game.

If you look at their squad on paper I would agree.

But the fact is that they were piss poor today and it was easy to see why they have struggled all season.

Worryingly, they were able to see the game out comfortably as we had absolutely no idea how to break them down.

I agree. I didn't go today so I cant comment on their performance today but on paper they have a side that should be challenging for automatic promotion- Buckland, Allen, Powell, Ince for a start- let alone the play offs. They have had some good results this season but then lost to sides at the bottom. Strange side.

Stoke are where they are because they are not as good as many in the league. Classic Cardiff lost to a team that everyone expects to beat and with that I think we will fall away now because we got 2 big home games in Forest and Brentford at home.

With just 12 games left to play I don't think any team is in a false position at this stage of the season. Stoke are where they are because they deserve to be where they are, and they are by no means safe yet.

For that Sam, read classic Fulham losing 3-0 at home to Barnsley.. our result yesterday is not unusual in this division, just depends who turns up on the day. Plus we won at Forest so who knows..

Have to agree,I love this league, just for the certainty, that anyone can beat anyone,on any given day!! Toughest league anywhere imho. :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

I’ve always said/stated the league table does not lie , you are where you are on merit :thumbright:

You make your own luck and you win or lose matches on the ability of the team and the of course the ability of the manager.
