Neil Harris: “ Disappointed in my side “

Sat Feb 22, 2020 6:46 pm

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris told BBC Sport Wales:

"I was very disappointed in my side today, I felt from the first whistle Stoke looked like a team scraping for their lives and we didn't match them.

"It pains me to say that, it is not often a Neil Harris team will be second best all over the pitch.

"But today I think you have to give credit to Stoke for the way they played and performed.

"For me as a manager it is very disappointing, I felt the goals we gave away were soft. I have no complaints with the result."

A Neil Harris side...he's talking about himself in the third person. I fear for our future. Mate you have serious delusions of grandeur

No complaints about the result. Strewth. Wise up you sound bite clown. I've got complaints about the result. The application was non existent.

Credit to Neil Harris for being honest and telling it as it is. Yet another example that a mass clear out is required. Nobody can polish a turd.

A week ago we were giving Harris praise and now he is a clown again? Yes, it was a poor result but our recent form under Harris has been decent. We are not going to make the play offs this season and even with the recent improvement in results it was always going to be an outside chance. We have lost our best player this season for two months and with it any vague hopes of the play offs now. But what frustrates me is why are we not crediting Harris for reigniting Tomlin in the first place? A totally forgotten man under Warnock. We are and always have been a team in transition this season. Our last summer transfer business was not good enough that's why Warnock fell on his sword. It was his failure not Harris. Today we have lost away from home to a side scrapping against relegation with our best player out injured. Take it on the chin, see the bigger picture and build for next season. If we are not top 8 material after 10 games next season then yes, get the knives out for Harris but until then lets accept where we are.

The defending for the 2nd goal was abysmal, jazz out muscled ,nelson out muscled , not acceptable

Harris: “From the first whistle to the last, we were nowhere near the standards that we’ve set, individually nor collectively.

“We gave two poor goals away, which is not good enough.”

Ross,

Stoke are 4th from bottom lost 3 out of last 4 games.

Harris has said this squad is quality and other clubs will fear us.
Also if they play like he wants we will make it.

He is not honest when he talks about the squad he can't be. He can't say with two thirds of the season remaining "its shit, WTF did Warnock do over the summer" he just can't.

Pep or Jose couldn't do shit with this squad. It will take a lot of wheeling dealing in the summer but talk (I know thats all it is) of Lee Gregory and Keiffer Moore leave me feeling flat. Still not sure what he did to warrant going to a top end championship club, but he is ours.

I just hope he is the greatest spotter of talent in the history of our club.

Neither Nelson nor Richards are adequate replacements for Peltier and Bamba. I'm not sorry to see Peltier go as it indicates Harris's intentions to have more attacking full backs. But we miss Sol Bamba immensly. I only hope he isn't being written off - just like he was at Leeds..

Id go with Bamba on Tuesday, Nelson needs to take a rest.
And Sanderson for Jazz.
Otherwise what was the point with bringing in Sanderson.

Someone on here earlier today insisted City wasn't a one man band,I'm wondering if he still of that opinion also our season will be defined on what we didn't do in the last transfer window, we didn't get a quality striker in and also more importantly we didn't get a like for like replacement for Tomlin, now whether it was incomatenanc on the part of Harris or Tann not having the ambition to give Harris a proper war chest, either way thos two decisions will cost us any chance of reaching the playoffs

Not as disappointed as I was Neil after spending £50 of my hard earned cash and six hours on a crappy coach to watch that pile of shite.

Clueless from start to finish.

The fact that we have remained close to the play offs for a lot of the season is a damning indictment of how poor the Championship is this season that a team as consistently inconsistent as we are could remain in contention for the play offs for so long.

Perhaps you could also explain the tactical genius you displayed by replacing Jazz Richards with Gavin Whyte during injury time today?

Fair play to those of our fans who applauded the team off the pitch at the end today - to be honest it was far from deserved.

its not incompetence its cost cutting.. cover for Tomlin ?. we did not replace like for like first team players last summer let alone spend on cover..
we didn't spend enough to go up. or enough to stay up its a case of hoping to get lucky..

There aren't many Tomlins around. And if they are they are not available for our budget. It dirs though show how we've not made the best of him for whatever reason until recently. Though Tomlin himself a reason for that too.

We have spent enough, just not spent well. £11 million on Flint and Glatzel says that.

Its utterly ridiculous we didnt use the loan system for the start of this season.

if you think spending less than we received although we were also losing a raft of players we were not getting anything for was enough well... wasn't half enough to be serious.. and where on earth does 11mill come from ? why not call it 20, if your going to exaggerate go for it properly

Third loss in 20 and whilst we’ve not won enough that was a very poor performance and he’s spot on really I’d rather him not dress it up that was as bad as it has been all season

Not sure why people are Moaning about his comments ie third person Warnock said the same after our loss to reading that the performance was not one of a Neil Warnock team

We all know this squad really isn’t good enough hasn’t been all season and it’s plainly obvious he doesn’t rate Warnock a signings as most of them can’t get any game time now ie flint and Glatzel paid over £11m for them combined and neither has added anything to this team and that is down to Warnock no one else
