Play for a Championship team rather than in the Champions League ? I don’t think so !

Playing in that sort of pressure game is much more valuable when he’s likely to be playing in the Euros in a few months.

Hasn't been getting enough game time though - needs to be playing week in/week out at his age

I guess that's the problem though, he isn't playing.

Play in one big game a year or 48 hard competitive games in one of the best leagues in the world ?
Hmmm yeah I see your point playing against a shit spurs team once and sitting in the stands all season is way more valuable. At least he will be fit and fresh for the euros though

Tottenham were though absolutely abject in first half. Didn't even try to get forward. Parked the bus at home in Mourinho bore style. Not sure Ampadu had much defending to do and certainly not pressed in all his possession. He can pass no doubt about that.

It would be good if you could name these so called world class players because 95% of people if asked to name a Rbeipzig player couldn't name one.

They are no better than a West ham or Everton . They have a very good striker in Werner but other than that they are standard german players.

Re: Ethan Ampadu

I’m sure 95% of Football fans would be able to name at-least Werner. He’s probably one of the best strikers in the world right now.

Re: Ethan Ampadu

Mason Mount spent last season coping with the demands of the championship on loan at Derby and look at him now. I'm sure the living in a different country thing has its developmental benefits but he really hasn't played much football. Could well be to Wales advantage in the summer. But when you see some of the dross we have played against this season, it has to detrimental to the Championship to have the best young players either overseas or kicking their heels in the top clubs u23s and u21s. All those Liverpool youngsters come to mind too.

They are not world class they are just very good players. No different to what other teams have in there squads. If they were world class they would not still be at Leipzig.

So West Ham would be challenging Bayern for the title if they were German? I don't think so.

They would be top 4 in germany without a doubt. Outside of Bayern , Dortmund and currently Leipzig the league is pretty poor and nit a patch on the premier league. This so called top team have loaned a kid from chelsea and bought a player who couldn't get in Everton's team. Says it all really.
The Bundesliga has had a major downturn in quality over the last 10 years which is why you don't see there teams dominating europe like they used to.

Werner is way way overpriced . Hes good but hes not in that league.
How can you call someone world class who has never done it on the biggest stage ? His record before he went to Leipzig was not great averaging 1 goal in 8 games.
Even Glatzel scored a hat trick against Bayern which shows how shit that league can be.
There is only one world class striker in german football and his name is Lewandowski.

Only one game but above seems to be given weight of argument by game last night. Reality is PL is massively competitive and awash with money to buy quality and it largely gets the cream. I'd be very doubtful if any sides outside the top four of their domestic European leagues would do anything other than really struggle here.
