77yr old Cardiff pensioner gives would be mugger a seeing too.
Pensioner was withdrawing money from a cash point in Colchester Avenue when he was set upon by a would be thief,the old fella put his fists up,gave him the “ cum on then” then the toe rag fled.

I agree. My only regret is that he didn’t land a few.
He’d probably have been taken to court for that though.
Mind you, I’d fancy my 5 year old grandson against the attacker who didn’t look particularly proficient with his fists.

Reminds me of the time when I first moved into my village up here in Derby.

My next door neightbour only had a couple of years left in him. A tall bloke but very fragile. We got talking about thieves entering our homes and what we would do. i said I would use a cricket bat. He said he does not need any weapon as he has his hands to do such work. "Right" I relied with a bit of sarcasm. I mean the guy look like he would run away from a fly. What happened next is the Gospel truth if you want to believe it or not.

In the middle of our street where we were having the conversation with other neightbours. Moving slowly he had me in an armlock face down on the ground. I though he was going to pull my arm socket out. He was well into his 70s while I had just turned 30. I was later to learn he was a Double Agent in the WW11 and was trained to handle such situations. Guess the saying goes "You never forget what you learn" applies.

Alfie was one of the nicest guys I've ever met and a terrific neightbour to have. He would do anything for you. His history and exploits during the WW11 he kept to himself until he was on his deathbed. I was there when he told all. I think I was the only one ot believe him going on what he did to me 2 years earlier.
