I was never ever in doubt about who my number one signing was going to be during Malky Mackay’s time at the club.

It was always going to be the Iceman.

It’s absolutely staggering to think that we managed to get this man on a free transfer (technically a compensation payment of £350k to Coventry) and he’s one of my favourite all time City players.

Always a fierce warrior in our ranks willing to throw himself in front of anything to help us win, Gunnarsson was simply an outstanding signing and in both promotion seasons in particular, he was immense. In his earlier days with us, he was all action at both ends of the pitch. As he continued with us, he showed us huge loyalty despite the fact that there were probably chances for him to leave at various stages. Later on in his Bluebirds career, he grew into more of a General and Commander.

A leader we missed massively after he left for Qatar. Another genuinely World Class player who not only helped lift us up, but he also helped lift his nation up at the same time. A Viking Thunder Clap of a signing.

Hard to argue, although he struggled towards the end we certainly got value for money.

What a guy

Gunners was without doubt one of the hardest workers I have seen in Cardiff Shirt and he could play too so many used to have a go at him which is crazy as he scored some great goals had great games for us in championship and the premiership.

Always be one of my all time favourite player and by god haven't we missed him this season
