Luton Town boss Graeme Jones: "We out-possessed them, we

Luton T 0 Cardiff C 1 :bluebird:

Luton Town boss Graeme Jones:

"We out-possessed them, we created more chances than them, and the boys gave absolutely everything they have got.

"The game boils down to two moments where Tomlin, he doesn't hope to score, he makes sure he can score.

"We had a really good opportunity - an incredible one-v-one - and you have to take them if you're going to win the game and we didn't."

Luton feed of our numerous mistakes and they had several chances in the first half to put the game to bed. Very fortuantely for us they couldn't hit a barn door as we could have quite easily have gone in at Half time 2 or 3 down maybe more?

They edged possession 58%/42% but that's the only stat  their strikers ineptitude is probably a factor in them being bottom? It's not as if we hadn't missed chances in games also, all teams misfire at some point.I know they are 2nd,but only by a point now,was 10 a few weeks back, they must be looking over their shoulders thinking f@ck,not AGAIN!! :laughing5: :old: :bluebird:

They had more possession, yes. Hence my post. That’s the only accurate thing he said - as I said, strange comments. :thumbright:

I don't see anything strange about those comments. The Luton boss confirmed what the stats showed, and went on to praise Tomlin. Unlike the Luton strikers, he didn't hit and hope to score, he got himself into a position where he made sure he scored. He also praised Tomlin in one of the newspapers, stating that City took their one chance while Luton missed several. He also said that the difference between Luton struggling and those higher up the table is the ability of those sides to take the odd chance that comes their way. Luton may have been a bit unlucky, but if you don't take your chances you will struggle to win. The difference probably came down to Tomlin and his ability to create the space for the opportunity, and the skill to place it in the corner of the net.

Everyone either missed or conveniently forget Paterson with simple chance to beat goalie when through but tamely hit it at keeper for easy save. :o

The stats show we had 15 goal attempts to Luton's 10 attempts.

We also had 7 corners to Luton's 4 corners.

If Graeme Jones thinks Luton created more chances than us with those stats, that's up to him.
