Great achievement

Mon Feb 03, 2020 12:02 am

Last weekend I watched our under 13's get beaten at home by their Chelsea counterparts by 4 goals to 2 at Treforest in the 1st leg of the National Cup competition.
Today they played the 2nd leg away from home and went 1-0 down early on to be 5-2 down.
Incredibly, these kids then scored 4 times to record a 6-5 aggregate win and go through to the quarter finals.
My mate's grandson played for the City kids, who look to have a couple of good prospects.
I just hope that they progress through to the seniors.

Fantastic achievement by them all.

I expect they are all now sleeping proudly :thumbright:

A lack of pressure and little media spotlight is good, because I haven't seen this in the press. If this was a Manchester United team then all the media would make them out to be the new Class of 92 and at that age. Not necessarily a bad thing to be little old Cardiff!

Best of luck to them in the next round :ayatollah:

The problem with the big clubs even us (a small big club :D ) is how do we let the kids transfer from aged grade football to senior. With so much money in the game clubs can have extended squads of experienced players happy to be back ups because compared to yesteryears contracts you can set up a decent life without being a first teamer.

Another problem is when we have a genuine prospect the vultures circle offer parents a lot of money and they up sticks to Manchester or London. Our academy has produced very good players we just never get to see them.

Hope to see Coxe and especially Mazembe over the remainder of the season.

I thought the U18's were meant to be very good, any others that we need to be aware of
