Do we need a drum to generate atmosphere at the CCS?
I realise that we haven't had a lot to get excited about this season or last season come to think of it, but do we really need a drum to dictate what noise we make?
As fans we are way too reliant on the drum to get the fans going.
If we are going to keep the drum how about having a main song starter alongside the drummer to give us a change from the same 4 songs.
We have a great repertoire of songs but its always the same stuff we come up with.
Against Reading all we had was 2 songs which were tedious to say the least.
We need to make our atmosphere as good as it was in the good old days at Ninian Park.
We didnt need a drum there and managed to make it one of the most intimidating grounds in the country.
We are Cardiff City FFS not a snowflake club like Reading

The only way you could really create a atmosphere is to get fans to get season tickets in the same section but that would be a bit compicated.. unfortunately it’ll never be like the Ninian Park days

There is nothing stopping the fans getting a song going without the drums? Comparing the new stadium to the old is not fair everybody's sitting apart from the canton this tends to stop the atmosphere when your up on your feet jumping up and down it builds atmosphere but sitting is like been in church and if you do stand your told pretty quickly to sit

I’ll bring a megaphone to the next game, let’s get the place rocking. :
Is that actually legal?

I’d probably get launched if I took a megaphone.

You make a very good and valid point with your comment on those behind the scenes wanting to dampen down the atmosphere at the more welcoming CCS...and the subject of the influence of a certain Wayne Nash (promoted under the current ownership to be their implementor-in-chief) was well aired at the time
However, I have often said on here that the recent atmosphere is possibly the worst I have ever seen in all my years of following Cardiff City and I was part of the old 4th Division 3,000 regular crowds at Ninian Park and its Betta Pies; and that is largely down to the crowd itself and not so much the new stadium
Easy to 'blame' Neil Harris (and as some do now he has gone, Neil Warnock) but I think there is an unrealistic air of expectation that has caused a malaise amongst the Premier League bandwagon jumpers, many of whom are just going through the motions whilst they run their season tickets down before they don't renew next season
It is easy to say it's the team's fault (or their style of play) but that shouldn't stop us from getting behind them during the game and stopping the opposition singing
"Is this a library?" for the umpteenth game in a row...
Ban the drum? No for me...just get the attending support to sing a
lot louder for longer to drown it out!

Not a fan of the drum at all and think it is one of the reasons why the atmosphere is poor as it is used in the wrong way. The canton has become reliant on it to get any sort of atmosphere going which involves the same few songs over and over again. It is boring. A lot of the classics are not sung anymore because the drum doenst do them. Also noticed they are not sung away much anymore either. Not sure if he can hear the fans properly up where he is but he often drowns out a song just as the fans are getting going. People just don't bother trying anymore.

Never liked the drum, its gone with good intentions but its a no for me.

Sadly without the drum we'd all be sat there asleep. Poor atmosphere this season and the powers that be seem intent on it continuing.

Just as we got one going in the last game at the back of block 103, the drum kicked in and drown us out, but in all fairness to Vince and the others I don’t think they heard us and they join in 99% of the time. Although it is limited, there’s plentry of opportunities to sing around it, however most fans choose not to join in. Trust me, we try to get them going. lol:

Its NOTHING to do with the new ground. I once thought it was but It's been absolutely rocking in there multiple times in the past with Wales and Cardiff. Two seasons ago on the way to prem it was great in the Canton.
The shit atmosphere is because it's full of wet bag modern fans that only sing when their winning. Harsh but true.

Totally agree, fans are always looking at someone to blame but this one is due to us.
