I have it on good authority that Russell Slade was at the game this evening - make of that what you will.

Be afraid......very afraid. :o :o :o :o

There is no visible difference, probably Slade inches it.

Agreed.

Could Tan be thinking of offering Slade a position of Director of Football perhaps? Or brought in as a consultant to advise Harris on culling the playing squad?

I doubt it as wasn't he "moved upstairs" initially when Trollope came in but left after a few days?

I have never understood why Tan hasn't got a £250K a year DoF or whatever you want to call it. Someone he can ring up in the middle of the night and know if it turned out to be a shit transfer he'd know there was no ulterior motive in terms of ex-gratia payments or other "fees".

Stephan McPhail does a similar job in Ireland and has learnt the ropes, he would be perfect.

For those who like American sport the general manager role, head of the front office would suit us down to the ground. He hires and fires all sports employees including coaches and players.

Maybe Russell Slade is the guy. But, he is definitely not a 2020 football coach.

I’d be very very very disappointed if he’s brought back let’s face it he’s a failure.

I agree. Someone who knows football and its characters inside out. Slade is that. Heard a great interview with him a while back.

But please keep him away from the coaching side of things.

Slade can make use of his extensive European connections with teams we gave our players away to when he was manager.

Slade still lives in the area. What is wrong in him watching his local football team?

Some people love a conspiracy.

I have it on very good authority that Forever Blue was also in the stadium for the Reading game on Friday evening - make of that what you will.

Could there be a link between the two occurrences...? :o
