A striker for us a defender for Scotland? And saying hes a striker only sums up the short comings managers we have had in way we play? we have spent countless millions on strikers but failed miserably to put team together to allow them to be strikers that score goals, no coincidence that everyone of them have failed for us..... let's see if NH can get in players that we have desperately needed past 3 or 4 yrs in the summer.

How many times you watched him play full back for us?

How many times you watched him play striker for us?

The man scores goals.

How many goals we scored this season compared to the other 23 teams
How many goals we conceded this season compared to the other 23 teams
Now whats our problem again ??

I'm not saying he doesn't score goals.

I'm saying our other strikers don't score enough.

Paterson was signed as a full back. I think I saw him play a few games at full back when he first appeared after his injury but Warnock saw that he could be more use further up the field.

Defence is our problem upto other day we were 8th best scoring team in championship and only WBA with 9 more goals were way ahead of us fair few teams only odd goal better than us. So easy to see the problem area? Tonight's goal typical of poor defending by individuals scorer on his own in six yard box with two city players couple feet away but both failed to mark him ! And thats been the constant all season.

He started off as a full back and now he’s a striker.

He’s not a full back we are throwing up front.

He’s a striker and he has been for a few years.

He's certainly popping up with the goals at the moment. And danny ward is always dangerous and keeps trying hard. Service has been our issue IMHO

19 goals in 89 appearances, not bad for a full back. ;) Zohore scored 24 goals in 96 appearances so not much to choose between them.

Yup and don’t forget alot Paterson’s appearances have been in midfield as well.

And Paterson hasn’t had as many minutes.

Goals to minutes ratio would be a better stat.

Based on minutes Paterson scores 1 in 3 for Cardiff.

Another stat - Paterson has scored five times as many goals so far this season as Zohore did throughout his last full season with us. Considering it was rumoured that Zohore was a £15m striker, Paterson's record is not bad for a fullback/midfielder/striker etc. Perhaps we should see what he's like as a keeper. ;)

Re: NO NEW STRIKER THEN?

Patterson will always score a number of goals, gets himself in the mix and wants it more than those around him
