REPORTS: CITY HOPING TO SIGN FOREST STRIKER

EXCLUSIVE: Cardiff hoping to sign 32yo Nottingham Forest attacker
TEAMtalk

Cardiff City are hoping to agree a deal with Nottingham Forest to bring Albert Adomah to South Wales, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal.

The winger moved to Forest from Aston Villa in the summer on a free transfer and while he has featured in 24 of his side’s 29 Championship games this season, most of those have come from the bench.

As such, Sabri Lamouchi’s side are willing to let the player leave and a number of clubs have made contact about his availability.

However, a Cardiff source has confirmed to TEAMtalk that the Bluebirds believe they can agree a deal for the 32-year-old.

Adomah moved from Harrow Borough to Barnet in 2008 before joining Bristol City in 2010.

A transfer to Middlesbrough followed in 2013 and the player stayed in the north east for three years before his move to Villa in 2016.

For me, this would be a great short-term signing to get us through this season and maybe next

Adomah has all the attributes to be a success in this City side and would add much to the mix :ayatollah:

Given his age I would rather have him on loan than sign him outright. Decent player in his day but how near is he to his sell by date? Could turn out ok but not one for the future.

I'm hearing it depends if Forest get Dwight Gayle

2m loan fee plus 15m if they get promoted

Just a thought though, and not saying it’s right with everyone but, if you look at RVP, RVN, Shearer, Sheringham, Cole to name a few they all excelled after 30....

Don’t know how he’s fared at Forest, but did good work at Villa.

Another youngster for the future!

We really are becoming a retirement home for ageing Wurzels.

They must be pissing themselves in Bristol.

Please just take a chance on a young striker

Would be a decent signing, but not a long term one obviously.

I can see Hoilett going back to the MLS in the near future, so this would be a short term replacement.

Good signing on an 18 month contract, if he'd accept that.

He does seem to be quite good at getting teams promoted. Be good on a short term deal.

On his day, virtually unplayable. I don't think those days happen as often as they used to but capable of being a match winner from time to time.

I mean ideally we need a winger and another CM before the window closes. However I hope we don’t end up wasting millions again on an old player.

Doesn't mention loan or permanent but your point is valid :thumbright:

Will we ever learn? 32 years old and the fans who watch him week-in-week-out say his legs have gone! I wouldn't even want him as a loan signing, as that would mean we wouldn't be getting another striker in.

Forest fans say he's great around the dressing room apparently, but offers little else these days...

Sounds like a typical Warnock-esque signing.

Strange one this - We are talking about young players coming through and we are looking at someone aged 32 ?

I don't recall anyone moaning about the last 32year old player we signed (SOL) :old:

Surely it depends on how long we sign him for on either basis?

Given his age signing him on a contract until end of this season be better than a years loan!

No thanks. Cant see Harris going for a 32 year old either.

Smacks of desperation.

Average journeyman who’s best days are probably behind him.

Where’s the ambition in signing this type of player?

Could do a job until the end of the season or for 18 months. Especially with NML out for a while and Injury probe.

We’d be better off with what we’ve got.

Please just be a rumour

WOL reporting that we’re getting closer on this one. Suggestion is that it’s a permanent deal. At 32, I really hope it’s a short term deal!

Should only be until the end of the season really.

We'll probably give him a three year deal :o
