Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:13 am

Cardiff manager, Neil Harris, has offered supporters encouragement ahead of this Friday's deadline.

"I was very clear the other day, I want to add to the group and I'm still pushing," he said .

"It's going to be a busy week on the pitch and hopefully off the pitch.

"I can't say anything that's changed, I can't promise there's going to be a player here because I want to identify the players I want to add.

"I'm just hopeful we can get them over the line this week."

“I am working 24/7 to bring players in.”

“But I won’t be bullied to bring new players in just for the sake of it.”

Same old, 'WoL.'

The title of the article bears no relation to the content. Harris actually said, according to the report:

"I can't say anything that's changed, I can't promise there's going to be a player here because I want to identify the players I want to add."

Keeping his cards tight. As for the won’t be bullied, I’m interpreting this as a dig too the agent’s, who operate with enthusiasm, especially at this time of year.

Seeing is believing. It's a big week for Harris.

Surely we need to get rid of more of our players before signing anyone. We have really only given away our 6m Striker and two of his mates that Warnock should never have been allowed to sign (neither has played this season)and an under 23 player on loan from our overloaded squad? Unless we find an unlikely bargain I would leave it until the Summer when we need a complete overhaul!

It makes you wonder who is the paying supporter ,a lot of feet dragging going on here there will soon be no time for buying or for a decent loan player ,needs to buck ideas and start looking.

Shrewsbury’s Josh Laurent was instrumental in their FA Cup draw against Premier League leaders Liverpool yesterday afternoon.

He has been on Cardiff City’s radar this month, according to reports, with Stoke and Reading also tracking him.

His price tag may have gone up a notch after his performance against the Reds...

Every manager says this though. They are hardly going to name targets are they? The January transfer window is so overrated aswell. Virtually no business gets done in the championship bar the odd loan :old: :old:

I put up what's basically happened in this window and aside from around 5 players the transfers are ordinary to say least and are really players replacing long term injuries or adding players to reduced squads.

Me too.

Sergio Aguero would struggle to get us into the top 6. No point in wasting money. Pats up top will do the job to keep us in the league. We are all looking the wrong way

I believe Harris is another cliched riddled journeyman manager doing everything by the journeyman book without a strand of originality or flair.
But this is my initial feeling, lets see what he does in the summer to change it and show the world that all those years in the championship and league one under such greats as Kenny Jacket had no negative affect on him and he is a one of footballs great innovators.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Isaac Vassell and Matthew Connolly remain the long-term injuries.
