Happened before when we played Crewe around 2002/2003. They had a black player called Rodney Jack (?) no connection to Swansea but the surname itself meant chants of you jack b*stard from the bob bank. The player thought he has hearing racist chanting and complained

I'm sure Reading will make a post-game statement that either condemns or exonerates the City contingent and we can all react accordingly armed with the facts and not the usual guesswork (of some)

My self and others approached bothcheif steward and the police at HT, and both did not authorise any announcment, and both fully agree that it should not have happened, Steward said it will be raised in the after match meeting as a number of complaints had been raised by Cardiff fans, the police also said it will be raised in their report

If this is, as most who were there are saying, a case of a steward mishearing "Jack b*stard' as 'Black b*stard' or them labelling us singing 'sheep shagging bastards, we know what we are' in a self-deprecating manner, then our board should absolutely stand strong and demand a very public apology from Reading FC as if you do a quick google search on the games and it is all that is being reported in every headline.

I was right next to the group in question. First off there were You fat b*stard chants aimed at a fat lad across the divide who was with his girlfriend but right in front of him was a black lad who may have misheard but he started getting irate. They were relentless on him To the point he walked out to chants of ‘fattys going home’ just after this the ‘Swansea are shit but better than you’ which was greeted by a huge ‘you jack bastards’
I got in a row with a reading steward at half time when I ask3d him the issue and he said and I quote ‘you’re sing anti England chants’ I started back saying don’t you dare accuse me of anything and what about all the ‘welsh c**t chants’ and after the welsh anthem ‘speak f*cking English chant’
The Cardiff steward said he thought it was ‘you jack b*stard ‘ chant that was misheard. Lots of arguing with Welsh Police outside about the ‘is anti English chants racist or not’

VILE ABUSE Reading investigate alleged ‘racist and homophobic chanting’ from Cardiff fans during FA Cup clash

READING have launched an investigation into two “incidents of discriminatory abuse” during their FA Cup draw with Cardiff.
Midway through the first half, an announcement was made over the public address system at the Madejski Stadium saying “racist and homophobic chanting from the away fans must cease immediately”.

Meant to add I know it was this incident because the police immediately started filming the group and stewards all surrounded them. One lad was led out.

Cardiff City fans have been accused of racist and/or homophobic chanting during their side's 1-1 FA Cup draw at Reading.

Warnings relating to the alleged incidents were issued via the public address system at Madejski Stadium.

Reading's supporters group Royals Support said on social media there were "two isolated but wholly unacceptable incidents of discriminatory abuse".



Cardiff City said in a statement they were aware of the allegations.



"We will be speaking with Reading Football Club, Thames Valley Police and South Wales Police (in attendance with our travelling support) to ascertain the facts of the matter," it said.

"We will conduct these conversations with the relevant authorities before making any further comment."

A Football Association spokesperson says they are aware of the allegations and will be investigating.

Cardiff manager Neil Harris said: "We, as a football club, work extremely hard behind the scenes.

"For me, it's not about Cardiff or Reading today, it's about society in general.

"We have to make sure as a society and football industry that that everything is correct. That's all I can say on the matter at the moment."
