Maybe for our version of hymns arias

I find this really uncomfortable when that song is sung. I’ve never heard us make racist chants. But a large section of our fans seem to think it is acceptable to sing a song about child sexual abuse and incest. It isn’t funny.

Before we claim the moral high ground over no racist or homophobic chanting, this song needs to be eradicated from our repertoire too.

And if that makes me a snowflake, bring on winter.

I don't agree with reporting our own fans. Deal with it in-house like adults and don't mean violently, just use speech and rationality.
The authorities aren't dealing with people fairly, are generally hysterical and hostile to us.
so why pull them into the issue?

To be honest, i only sing the first verse because im personally uncomfortable with the second. However everyone is different and it's just harsh football banter. Which is a very important context.

The same thing happened in Southampton. Our whole end cheered when the culprits were led away. N I thinking you would have cheered but just not wanted to be the one that stopped them maybe getting away with it?

I’m old fashioned too mate. The race card is pulled out unevcesarily far to often imho and I’m not one of the mad pc brigade - far from it. I also thought the mcburnie thing was ridiculously OTT.
Just thought at the time that the knob that did what he did yesterday should learn a lesson - if it was outside the ground I’d have told him what I though of his actions.

How do you know that’s what it’s for?

They have been arrested for “racially aggravated abuse”, that doesn’t tie in with what you are suggesting.

I think you should take a step back from defending them anymore until the facts come out. As it stands there has clearly been reasonable grounds for arrest.

How do you know that’s what it’s for?

They have been arrested for “racially aggravated abuse”, that doesn’t tie in with what you are suggesting.

And no one can say that in a crowd of 3000 they heard everything that was said by everyone. There are some pretty unpleasant teenagers in the ranks who think they are chocolate, as most teenagers do, and if they shouted anything they shouldn't very few of 3000 would have heard it. Let's hope not.

mate ,all clubs have to deal with some sort of mis behaviour almost every game. its not riots or mass disorder like in days gone by but there is always minor incident...you often see individuals being taken out of the bowl and dealt with both at home and away ,without having a ridiculous announcement which addressed the whole away end...
