Alternative line-up

Fri Jan 24, 2020 11:12 pm

Whilst we wait for Bale or Ronaldo to be signed :banghead: I've been thinking that we are so powder puff up top and get over run in midfield. So how about changing it up a little and play 442 or 4411, but bring a little pace in up top.

Smithies

Bennett
Morrison
Neilson
Richards

Patterson
Ralls
Pack
Bacuna

Tomlin & Murphy

Yes Murphy as a striker... We've tried the big guys and lumping it for three years, why not get the opposition centre halves having to turn and not just stand there watching long balls get pumped at them. Ball on the deck as much as possible, overlapping fullbacks, solid strong midfield. You could also drop Pack for Tomlin and put Hoilett up top.

Let the abuse begin.

You want to prevent us getting overrun in midfield yet you still include Pack in the TS xD

I like the look of that team selection, but would probably play it as a 4-1-3-2

Pack holding, breaking up play and off loading a simple pass

Ralls (C), Patterson (L) and Bacuna (R) all playing narrow as the full backs selected are capable of providing an element of width.

Tomlin has creativity and Murphy Speed. We have nothing to lose trying Murphy up top as the season currently looks like it’s heading for a mid-table at best finish.

What’s Harris’ number, I’ll text him now.
