Big name signing tomorrow?

Wed Aug 25, 2010 11:26 am

The other board reporting we've got a big name signing coming in tomorrow

Can anyone shed any light?

Keogh

Can we just rule out Benjani. It's not happening. He's in training with Blackburn until tomorrow when they will decide to sign him or not and in all honesty, I think we have better here.

would you class keogh as a big name signing? i wouldnt hes not an out and out goal scorer, but yes ive heard hes signing. but i wouldnt class him as a big name.
maybe i could be a defender ive heard recently gabbidon but hes really injury prone

I'd class Keogh as big a name signing as Gabbidon or Loovens, who are the names being touted around, although I haven't heard the Gabbidon one. I wouldn't want Gabbidon back here now, he's just too injury prone. I wouldn't have let him go in the first place, but our hand was forced at the time

thick people on football-rumours.com saying that mccormack's move to leeds will be hijacked by hull, who will give us bullard in return, but leeds will pay us 1 million for rae! must b mad!

i would give gerrard a chance when we come to the end of last season with him in defence instead of hudson we were keep clean sheets. i will not be happy if he does go to sheffield wednesday on loan he gives 100% not saying hudson dont be he looks lost.

Keogh is hardly a big name is he really , CCFC need a quality centre half and I think thats who the big name will be . Anton Ferdinand will do :ayatollah:

Hudson is one of Jones' pets, one of his faults. I would pick Gerard, too, him and Blake formed a great partnership, but whenever Hudson isd fit, he will always get picked, no matter how badly he plays but Jones just can't see this

I read somewhere Anton Ferdinand has gone to Perugia or Palermo. Besides, I can't stand the bloke. If he comes here and does a job, fair enough, but I just can't bring myself to like him, he's an arrogant little cock who thinks he's better than he is

Apparentley Blackburn have ended their interest in Benjani ,Doubt he will stay in premiership not unless he signs for Blackpool or Newcastle.Wages be a stumbling block for them as he was on £45k a week at city .

Re: Big name signing tomorrow?

he would be an amazing signing but i just cant see it that is aming high, he has no connection to are club apart from bellamy the only chance we got is a one year contract but i cant see us paying him that much.
he will end up at someone like fulham.

Re: Big name signing tomorrow?

Wed Aug 25, 2010 12:50 pm

What exactly are we, a second tier club, expecting out of all this "big name signing" stuff? I think Keogh is a realistic signing for us and, if Bellamy had been born elsewhere, would we have got him? No, we wouldn't. It was really down to him being cast adrift at Man City, him wanting to sign for us and them not letting him sign for another Premiership club as the only real reasons we got him. So lets get real about all this big name signing stuff. I think Keogh will be a good signing for us, if it is indeed him who is rumoured to be coming. Mick McCarthy has said he's coming here, so all this nonsense about Benjani is just that. Nonsense

Jokes need not necessarily revolve around pronunciation simlarities - they can also be about form, alliteratation, spelling patterns, the surreal and penguins :old:

Is it definitely a player?
Or is something big happening at board level?
