We’d like to thank Bobby for the time he spent at Cardiff City Stadium and wish him well for the future.

I think I read somewhere (maybe on here) that Fulham would have to buy him if he played a certain amount of games for them (which he has) and that they wouldn't get relegated this season (which they won't).
But why would they hand over £10m now when they don't have to rather than waiting until the end of the season?
I can't see why Fulham would do this unless they were paying a bit less for early settlement or unless an extra payment was due if they got promoted this season?
Nice for us to get the money in early but can't see why they would pay it early?
Any thoughts?

Can't help but fear we've settled on something to get the money in now. And id be flabbergasted if it's £10 million and showing a £1.5 million profit.

Who said they have paid anything early ?
It just says they have completed a permanent transfer , it doesnt mean the money will be paid in full now it's probably still due end of season. They have just made it permanent from today. Nothing really has changed because he was going anyway.
It does however mean Fulham can now loan a extra player as they had 5 already, I expect to see Fulham announce a loan signing soon.

So they're having him for free for five months?
You may be right and if you are then we are currently no better off than if the transfer completed at the end of the season.
Fulham on the other hand are getting a player they have not had to pay for as yet and can also loan another player now that they've "bought" Reid.
Still seems weird to me.

Can't see how it frees up a wage as I'd hope Fulham already paying all of Reids. Fee already scheduled to come in and id imagine the Sala emergency payment fund. Doubt it'll make any difference to what NH has to not do much with
