Speaking of the transfer market, the Birmingham City game only served to highlight exactly where Cardiff need more strength in depth.
Harris spoke after the Swansea game of wanting to add a little more quality in and around the edge of the box in order to create more clear-cut chances and that was evident again at St Andrew's.
Tomlin was the only real goal threat in the Midlands yesterday. Yes, Paterson did a job in winning first balls and using his physicality to cause a ruckus in the box, but Tomlin was the only player who was likely to score.
It came in unfamiliar circumstances for him, of course, a header from a corner, but he was so dangerous in the second half.
He had a goal ruled out for offside, he saw a very good penalty shout waved away and he whistled a thunderous shot just an inch or two wide when the Bluebirds were chasing a second.
There is no doubting his quality, but City's reliance upon him is alarming.
Tomlin also picked up his seventh yellow card in 12 games - his eighth of the season - and a suspension when he inevitably reaches 10 is looming.
And he desperately needs help. He can't do it all on his own for the rest of the season. Where would Cardiff be without his goals and assists this year?
Another creative midfielder or No.10 should be top of Cardiff's shopping list this month.
NEIL HARRIS:
"Adding to the group, I'll say it again, it's a fantastic squad on paper and a big squad full of quality, they just need time to play my way.”
"I work with them every day and they area good squad. It's about getting the best out of them and having variety.”
"You need variety in your group and we are just trying to add support and variety to the group we've got already and that's the aim of the window, to keep trying to add to the group up until January 31, because it's a long second half of the season."

I did notice Annis, a few times you have posted about what Harris has said regards the squad, have yet to read the brilliant squad quote from him? Warnock said that the squad he left were capable of top two,but nothing pointed in his direction by a few posters? Do you believe it a current managers job entails "outing" members of his current squad? Which would basically ridicule what Warnock was quoted as sayingcome on mate,we've had loads of soundbites around that subject,I understand fans (me too) were dissapointed with his appointment, but some are ready to "hound him out" it is the same players Warnock couldnt lift, why would a new manager be able to achieve this, after just a third of the season under his belt? While I am underwhelmed, he in my book, has done ok so far, played 7 teams above us, who were all playing well too.whist I would judge a manager after say 15 games,I have allowed Harris some wriggle room, as not one player his his choice, and it's obvious to me at least,he is trying to implement change, but sadly has come to the realisation most of us fans have also come to,that on paper he thought,I could get these playing a different way,but in reality, the players are struggling with the ball!! It's been said by posters, that the players look terrified at times,I believe this is because it is "foreign" to this squad to actually string more than 5/6 passes together,it's like expecting someone to learn a language, when for the last 3 years, they have been speaking in a different tongue completely
The football even under Warnock was stale, and certain players seem to prefer to just gather mould, whilst others would rather stay fresh, boy am I glad forums didn't exist in the late 70's

It’s more of a case the manager not knowing what to do then the players not being able too.
Some of these played in the premier league last season, you don’t get to play in the premier league if you can’t pass a football.
You only have to look at the difference in Millwall this season it proves everything.

He has said it will take time to get them to play"my way" imho crtain players can't cut the mustard,or at the very least are struggling to break free of the "Warnock way",in my opinion,Warnock failed to add any real footballers to his squad when relegated, and Harris is suffering the consequences, but believe me after the summer window,if we are not performing in the 1st 15 games,I may well join the chours of discontent, but am willing to at least give the man the chance to have "his type" of players here, while I'm not knocking Warnock's achievement whilst here,I'm also not being fooled by his b@locks about leaving a squad capable of the top twoyeah, that's why he left then

1 point average a game for the remaining 18 games will see us well safe
2 points average a game would see us flirt with the playoffs (Currently no championship team is greater than 2 points per game)
How can Harris find out about his players if he plays the same 11 ? How can he find about about a players adaptability unless he tries new things ?
All this desperation is really desperate !!!!
