JOE BENNETT:

On the injury

"Strange one really, went to compete for the ball with Junior and Junior headed the ball and I headed the back of his head. I obviously had to come off because the top of my head was massive. I went to hospital while the game was on, but no damage so all good yeah. A freak accident."


Can you get a run going?

"It’s hard in this league. A lot of teams have found it’s hard to find consistency and get results. Away from home we’ve not quite been at it this season. Our home form has been pretty decent though."









Bring it on?

"Yeah, definitely. I’ve not really had competition. This season, if I’ve not played so good I know I’m going to play next week.
I don’t mind. I’ve had it throughout my career at every club I’ve been at. If I’m playing well then all good."

The derby

I really enjoyed it. I’ve had a little bit more licence from this manager to get a little further forward. Change of tactics and formations play to my strengths and a lot more enjoyable. A fair result in the end.




Any worries?

The doc was worried it was going to be a fracture and he said nothing was serious. I’m relieved. It took about a week to get down and I had a lot of bruising, but luckily no damage.

On potential new full-backs

Greg went out on loan, I’ve been the only left back really. It’s right that we get another left back in for competition for me really. It’s good for me and helps me raise my game so I don’t mind if the manager buys a left back.





You've won at two of the better teams in the division

It’s just that type of league really. We’ve talked a lot about away form as a group and that’s what we need to work on.
