How come we let Gary Madine go and paid up his contact.

How come we let Gary Madine go and paid up his contact.

How come we didn't get some of the money back or get them to take over at least part of his contract.

So we lost the fee we paid for him.
We lost on wages
And we paid up his contract.
Who the hell is incharge of this shambles.
I read now that he has signed for Blackpool.
Now yes this is closer to his home but read the screen shot how has he had Blackpool push the boat out on a new deal and he was there number one transfer target.
How have we missed off loading him and saving some cash.
Did Harris say he was worth nothing???
I don't get it. It can't just be me can it?

I even called it and said he would find a club soon and be back playing.
If he was there number one target you think we would have known or had contact with Blackpool

On the bright side we have got rid of a bad smell in the dressing room by moving on a player who was never going to be a success at this club.

I don't know the full details of his settlement but as he left by mutual consent it is far from certain we have paid up his contract in full until 30 June. I would guess that at most we have paid half of what was due but more likely couple of month's salary once he knew he had a contract at Blackpool.

agree. something is a miss here ..and mutual consent could mean paid in pull, paid nothing or any amount in between.

I would imagine it was "paid nothing".

If he already had this move setup and the club knew about it then it would be best for both parties to depart. Yes Madine would be taking on less finance but at 29 he is coming to the end of his career as a striker. He was going nowhere here but at Blackpool he will have a chance to say go into management when he hangs up his boots. Staying here he would have become a forgotton soul.

was going nowhere here, and become a forgotten soul....im really not sure about that.

Harris tried to get him on loan last season..so obviously arrived rating him ?
Forest away... calls Madine outstanding

Brentford away .

only played the final half hour but Harris in a different interview says for that half hour was the best player on the pitch..

misses Leeds through injury ...will be a big loss...
plays final half hour against PNE and done..

so how does a manager go from thinking a player is out standing, best on park, not having him a big loss to being released in 4 weeks ?
something has happened that had zero to do with performances ?

 I'm of the same line of thinking,if he was in trouble in Newcastle (or any where else) surely he breached his contract? But was allowed to leave without the fuss, and of course the pay off. :old: :bluebird: a big loss...................Financially
