AGONIZINGLY SLOW.

Thu Jan 16, 2020 4:22 pm

Neil harris said he wanted to see everyone when he arrived to see who and what he needs, and who he does'nt want, well its decision time, i wish he and the board would enlighten us fans to what is the state of play, or are we going with the usual
Wait and see on the last day of the window.
As a fan i am hoping for a boost in a feel good factor with some good news coming from somewhere, but at the moment i feel like a flat tyre deflated with the feeling that our season is all but over, mid table, the feel good factor is all but dissapearing on the terraces this season, last season we sang and sang throughout the whole game even when we where losing, a big big difference this season.
Come on harris and the board give us something to sing about.

Neil Harris is Russel Slade 2.0 basically he don’t know what’s happening with transfers he will probably get told he’s having two loans or something after they’ve been signed.

Haven’t the club already announced that no money is available?
It’s already been said that we need to shift players out to free up wages

Must be some money available as we bid 2.3m for Kieffer Moore. I also don't see many more players on big wages leaving. Joe Day? Cameron Coxe? Omar Bogle? Mark Harris?. Don't think any of them will free up a lot for wages. I could see Vaulks possibly being a dark horse to leave on loan due to him probably wanting first team football with the euros around the corner and his position in the Wales squad not confirmed.

Yes, I'm fearful that Mr Tan has lost interest in club ambition and it seems like the wage bill and getting the parachute payments for a few years are a priority.

Yes we should pay off the debt and try and get on a level financial footing but lately the decisions have been far from ambitious from a fan's (sorry customers) point of view.

Just come down from the prem and happy to tread water !!! HOPE NOT :sad7:

We could bid 2.4 million for Messi but not get him. The board knew that bid would be rejected but it makes it look like they are trying to spend money. It will end up with a loan or cheap player from league 1 with the club saying we tried for better when the window closes.

None of our latest signings have been leaked until they are done, they have been kept tight lipped apart from this one which was shouted from the rooftops , strange that. It was just a smokescreen.

I agree its as though tan has lost interest, has he turned up this season, choo and dalman seem to be in mourning since neil left, and harris seems lost as to what to say when asked about any dealings in the transfer market.

who shouted it ?
there are 3 parties involved in any transfer and of the 3 the selling club and player have far more to gain from the publicity than the club who are trying to buy ?

I just think that bid was a joke

There was no way Wigan were ever going to accept that money for a striker who has just broken through at international level and is going to a major tournament.

It's one of two things. We either are trying to look like we are spending money knowing the bids will get rejected to look like we tried or we have absolutely no idea of players valuations which is why we either bid too little like Moore or way too much like Madine

The truth is in there somewhere

we bid 2 mill for Madine but they wanted 6 from the outset . was early January.
we looked elsewhere at other more expensive strikers including grabban { remember all that, its 99% done, nearly over the line, just a few small things to iron out } that felt like it went on forever .
eventually went back and negotiated the 2 mill plus 4 if promoted { which didn't exactly look in the bag, having picked up 8 points from previous 8 games } anyway likewise a Moore deal might still have legs ? but whoever we signed will get slaughtered

It looks like the usual wait and see, i thought when harris arrived there was going to be some movement and a shift in how the fans are informed and kept in the loop with a bit of hope to cling onto, all the b.ll.cks about shaking things up with a new manager, we are galloping backwards,
he might aswell not do interviews its embarrassing skirting around questions.
