Our three weaknesses we should never play

Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:25 pm

If any of these players play, I believe we are making it harder for ourselves. Our weaknesses are

Flint
Pack
Day

Flint can’t defend, bad decision making, too many mistakes in him, slow, really bad when he’s the last man.

Pack is too slow, bad decision making, too many mistakes particularly when he’s the deepest midfielder and dwells on the ball and loses it. Doesnt offer any defensive reassurances, doesn’t offer any creativity and seems to make a lot of hospital passes. Doesn’t offer anything going forward.

Joe Day never looked great against even the non league teams during pre season. Looked awful at his one appearance when Etheridge was injured during the Wigan game. There’s nothing to suggest he has made the jump from league 2 to the championship, too much of a risk.

Day has played one half of football this season. How is he a weakness when he doesn't play and we have two keepers higher up the pecking order?

i do feel for day, i feel he was bought to be a number 2 in the summer, with the club expecting either smithies or etheridge to go. i don't think he is good enough at championship level, i really do think he had the season of his life at newport during that last season, even reaching the play off final. i just think the club realised they could have a really cheap number 2. and the club are now stuck with him as both smithies and etheridge remained

it looked like Smithies was on his way. Day gets thrown in at Wigan which results in Smithies getting the shirt and Murphy being dragged back short term.. I think the penny had dropped .

Day isn’t good enough for this level another terrible signing.

Day is probably number three keeper so unlikely to play but needed just in case.
Flint is a decent player, probably best as Morrisons number two, but will do a job when needed.
Pack, he is a good player, he may be dropped shortly for Ralls and Bacuna with Tomlin infornt, but overall has been a good solid player for us, and will be used for the remainder of the season on occasions no doubt.

Id like to see all 3 moved on in the summer.
