Lee Gregory

Surely we can look at finding a better striker than Lee Gregory, because hes isn't better than anyone currently in the squad

Beg to differ mate.Against Madine and Kiefer Moore his stats look very good.A cheap option on an 2yr contract sounds good to me.

Agreed, plus Harris has managed him before and will know his capabilities. It’s a short term signing that carries a lot less risk than some of the others mentioned.

Again lack of pace

We are such a slow team - We need to put some pace into this squad

31 tho - I know its not old but I'd rather look at some hungry youngsters

Re: Lee Gregory

We already have too many strikers on our books why we would want to sign another old average player is beyond me.

Depends on the fee Stoke are looking for and what wages a 31 year old expects.

We certainly don't want to be giving him a two year contract at that age or paying a big fee for him.

If he costs £100,000 or less and accepts £5000 a week on a one year contract with big bonuses for goals scored he may be worth a punt.

Otherwise it's just throwing money away yet again.

Because he’d still be more effective than Glatzel

Begs the question why are stoke willing to get rid of a player that was only signed in June?

Given his brace, should we chuck flint up top?! ;-)

Re: Lee Gregory

he's actually a winger, who i am sure was pushed to play the number 9 at millwall because they had no strikers available, and he scored a few goals, but wasn't prolific. which earned him a move to stoke.

if thats the case, id rather see us play murphy as a number 9, his pace and tomlin knocking balls through, might be more effective there than he is as our winger

His age !

At 31/32 he's only got 18-24 months left at this level at best.

Last thing you want is to sign a player with a full stomach.
